Still going strong...

Earlier this week a friend expressed her surprise at the fact that I still had hanging baskets and mangers out and still going strong.
This prompted me to get out my trusty little camera to record what is still flowering well.
The last photos are mainly for Hywel, to show I do have one or two Fuchsias in my garden, which I hope to add to next year :) Thanks for looking x

Wow! So much colour. I absolutely love tour scree bed with the upturned wooden planter...It's perfect! The last Fuchsia and the wine coloured one are my favourites! That peachy Dahlia is a stunner too!

You are certainly not lacking in colour Waddy - it's all looking ever so good.
Loving the peach coloured Begonia, it's a beauty.

Wonderful ! You have so much late summer interest. It's nice to see your Fuchsias :) I hope you can get a few more for next year.
I do like your alpine bed, and that big spikey white dahlia :o)

Hi TT, Thank you the bush in pic5 is a Caryopteris, Blue Spiral.

Cottagekaren; Thank you. Some of the sedums in the scree bed have developed bigger than they should have, but I'm pleased with the overall effect. The last Fuchsia is a new one this year 'Black to the Fuchsia' I'm hoping to keep it over the winter.

Scottish; Thank you. The begonias (Peaches and Cream) were slow to get going, but have made up for their slow start.

Hywel; Thank you. It's the third year I've grown the cactus dahlia tuber, but it's become so big I don't think I'll be keeping it this year...but you never know lol! Glad you like the Fuchsias. I know it's rather late, but I've taken some cuttings of the ones I'd like to keep...just in case they don't over winter. The cuttings will be cosseted I assure you.

Beautiful fuchsias Waddy - they aren't all hardy ones are they? if so my wish list just got longer...
13 Sep, 2014
Steragram; Lol! No not all only the first four.

I too like that dahlia, well I like all of them but the spiky one really stands out, you do have lots of colour Waddy and pleased to see you have them mingling, I as you know always end up with a mingle, lol.
Hope my new scree bed fills out like that...

What a stunning collection of plants, Waddy. Your garden is looking gorgeous, and I love the design of your gravel bed . . . all made me smile this morning, thanks!
Added to favourites for more smiles in the future :))

Lovely, lovely, lovely...:-)

Lincslass; Thank you. I always intend to have a colour theme, but then I'm seduced by all the plants in the GC and my plans go to pot. Anyway, nature has her colours mingling and what's good enough for her... I'm sure your Scree bed will fill out quickly. Mine was only created last year and the sedums have spread like mad.

Yep! All good!

Good Gracious, Waddy - it's all looking stupendous! No wonder you're always exhausted. How can you possibly have Polyanthus in flower in September? And Paeonies and Clematis? Ours finished MONTHS ago. Mad seasons.
16 Sep, 2014
Gattina; Believe it or not, my Polyanthus have flowered on and off all summer. No Peonies I'm afraid but I have 9 Clematis (at the last count)which flower from early spring right through to the first frost, so there's usually one or the other in flower.

GATTINA! Welcome back :))
Hope you'll tell us your news soon . . . e.g. have you moved house, etc.??!
(Sorry Waddy!)
25 Sep, 2014
No problem, Sheilabub. I hear from Gattina quite a bit. I keep telling her she's missed on GoY. I hope she sees your message.

Thanks Waddy . . . I just hope that Jan is feeling a lot better . . .

Sorry to be so late to your very colourful blog Waddy ... how lovely to have so much colour at this time of year ... it has been a strange year for many flowers! I am surprised to see a yellow Rose in bud in my garden today ... weird!
27 Sep, 2014
I counted 10 dog violets in flower on the lawn yesterday!
Weird is the word.
27 Sep, 2014
Shirley; I know exactly what you mean. My Ruby Anniversary rose has lots of flowers and yet as you can see I've primulas in bloom too ;/
28 Sep, 2014
Steragram; It sure is. What next, spring blossom in December?
28 Sep, 2014
Weird indeed . . . my yellow rose is also still flowering (a climber, Laura Ford, which Peter Harkness didn't recognise when he came to visit, lol)! Pink and white Petunias still flowering merrily, along with my favourite trailing Verbenas . . . happy times :)
28 Sep, 2014
I spotted a tiny Primrose in bloom today ... and what looks like Daffodil foliage ... surely not!
28 Sep, 2014
Trouble is, if they flower in autumn what willbe left for spring?
28 Sep, 2014
My sentiments exactly Stera.
28 Sep, 2014
Michaelmas Daisies, Stera?
