A last gasp?

Apparently we are going to see a dip in temperatures next week so I decided to take a few pictures of what is still blooming in the garden. Is this the last gasp before Autumn moves in?
This is a Basil I bought from a supermarket 4 months ago. It out grew its pot very quickly, so I just popped it in the garden in a sunny spot. As you can see, it seems to like it there!
I’m still getting used to this camera so I’m sorry if some pictures aren’t too clear.
Have a good weekend everyone.

You have lots of nice plants Julia. It's sad to think all this will end soon, but it only ends to start again next year, and we can look forward to that :)
You seem to have mastered your camera, the photos are good.

It all looks lovely and summery and I hope it will continue for a little bit longer yet.
As Hywel said there is a lot to look forward to next year and see it all start up again.
Really pretty photos here.

lovely blooms but there will be some flowers surviving the cold to still bring joy.

What a lovely blog, Julia! You’ve an abundance of gorgeous colour still flourishing away in your garden! It must feel like summer is still hanging on in there…hopefully the temperature dip won’t harm them too much 🤞
I do like the pink flower - 6th pic from the bottom - it’s so pretty. What is this one, Julia?

Linda235: I quite agree. The temperature here this morning was 15c but by this afternoon it had risen to 20c. Hopefully it will be a while before we get any frosts.

Hywel: That's the sign of a good gardener isn't it? Looking forward to what comes next. Thank you for your kind comment about the pictures 😊

Wildrose: Thank you for your kind comments. I'm pleased to see there's still quite a bit of colour out there. 😊

SBG: Thank you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed quite a few come through the winter.

Kate123: That's kind of you. I'm pleased how things have turned out considering this the first year of a new garden. The plant in the 6th from bottom picture is Verbascum Lavender Lass. It's flowered none stop for the past 5 months. I just deadhead it regularly.

I love all the colour in your garden Waddy! I can't believe it will soon be coming to an end! I was hoping this weather would last into October then the winter might not feel so long!

Lovely happy plants Julia … and thank you for naming the plant Kate asked about … it is very pretty. Will make a note as long-flowering plants are just what I’m looking for 🙂.

It's all looking lovelyJulia, and a credit to you, considering it was only April when you moved there, and started your garden from scratch ! What a transformation, and so much colour, which I'm sure you will be enjoying for some time yet. A bit of frost will probably affect some, that's if the forecast is rcorrect,,which isn't always the case, but lots will survive,I'm sure .:o) xx

Loads of colour in your garden, Waddy, you have some lovely plants. I too was taken with that lilac Verbascum. I hope it will all last a while yet.

Really beautiful collection of flowers Waddy - very much enjoyed my "trip"! The hydrangea is quite unusual and very pretty - do you have its name please?

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't have any frosts for a while yet.
I'm sorry Steragram both Hydrangeas were gifts without labels.

Thank you, Julia 😊

I love autumn flowers and happy to see the end of those parching hot days. We can really feel autumn now, but hings are still happening in the garden. Dahlias, mums & asters are having their turn. I love your new garden Julia. You've inspired me to pic up a few hydrangeas which are lush & green - but not picture worthy yet. lol!

Julia I also cannot believe how good it looks, you must have worked jolly hard and put a lot of hours in considering the short time you have been there, very nice choice of planting, its a credit to both of you,I'm hoping for the beautiful colours to last a while yet, the trick is to always carry ones handy snippers for deadheading, xx

It's looking like the forecast was right. The heating is on, but only low at present. The garden is soaked and lots of plants are looking really bedraggled.
Bathgate: The colours are still there, just soggy! Hope you get your Hydrangea 🙂
Lincslass: I have to give some credit to the OH and our son who helped with the heavy work at the beginning. I did manage to get out at the end of last week and plant my spring bulbs. Now I can't wait for spring lol!!

Thanks Julia. I got 3 and the lace cap is trying to bloom. Lots of plants have petered out, but others are just waking up (violas, mums, rose of Sharon). My furnace is on too. Nights are getting nippy. Hope you're all settled into your new home.

Sorry for the late reply Paul. Thank you yes, we're very settled now.
I've been busy last week planting my spring flowering bulbs. Now of course I can't wait for spring!
The heating is on at night now, but only until we get under the duvet lol!

Thanks Waddy. You seem to have lots of beautiful colour there. Next week will be colder so that frost can’t be too far off. We must enjoy this weekend.
