Our mixed up garden in a mixed up summer!

I made a snap decision (sorry!) to go outside and take a few photos in between the very heavy showers that are hanging about ready to deliver another deluge!
I always tell you how fond we are of our garden but it tends to rule us, especially at this time of year. Plants grow too big in the wrong places or don’t seem to grow at all because they too are in the wrong places! Anyway, here it is for you too, to become entangled with, for a few moments!
See what I mean, in the last photo our pond was hidden somewhere!
A winning combination here sweet peas alongside runner beans!
We are sort of in control of our new fence and are pleased with the planting alongside it.
The tulip tree is also spreading quickly but we must keep it as our grand sons love to climb it when they come to stay. It also gives welcome shade on those rare very hot days.
So as you see roses battle with hardy geraniums, Japanese anemones are as tall as our hedge, our pond is invisible much of the year but the garden gives us a huge amount of pleasure and we enjoy the challenges! Unless they include brambles, bindweed, etc, etc!!
Three hours later! ?☔️☔️☔️

Its a treat to take a tour Wildrose, your way with gardening and attitude towards it is also my way , I too love a varied selection and scrambles and mingles, I often have things in the wrong place but lets face it nature does put things on parade, I can see why you love it and long may that continue....

Lovely! And may you enjoy it for many many years to come :)

So pretty, and I think it's better that plants grow quickly rather than refuse to grow at all. You can always trim!
Honeysuckle after rain : lovely perfume.

Sorry Widrose its supposed to say Nature does not put things on parade. It hasn't given me the edit option to put it in correctly.....

I know exactly what you mean Chris ours is very much the same its an onward battle to see who wins , my pet hate is Brambles we have fields of blackberries next to us I'm convinced the birds drop the seed in our garden on purpose as a thank you for keeping them fed during the year ....

I understand how you feel about overgrown plants and ones in the wrong places. However, other people see it differently. I think your garden is beautiful and interesting :)

Each to their own......one man's meat etc! we are always trying to control our gardens, it is a constant battle here ..... because everything grows fast, but we enjoy the challenge of creating something new, but not everyone feels the same....we garden to suit ourselves, it's our personal space.....so just love your garden! the way it is, looks lovely to me!!
