CONNIE'S AMAZING GARDEN PART ONE.......

I have been saving this blog since last Summer, I thought it would be ideal to cheer us up on a cold miserable winter’s day, and because I took so many photographs I thought it would be better to do it in two parts………….When you approach Connies bungalow you could be forgiven for thinking it is just an ordinary 70s bungalow, BIG mistake!! through the gate and WOW this is certainly no ordinary garden, it is set out in rooms but not small ones, these are open spaces, this one is a Mediterranean area, using colour (the wall) and gravel as the sand, a brave lady, but it works!!

The next area is Chinese which tells the story of a couple depicted by statues (Romeo and Juliet) who fall in love, die and turn in to butterflies….I love the tall structures which are gates and guarded by these lovely statues.

There is a large pond with a massive Gunnera (no longer, new planting being arranged as I type)

That was just a taster to whet your appetite I will finish the rest tomorrow……….

Wow!! Now that's a fascinating, well maintained and beautiful garden. I love that blue-sky wall! Is this a friend of yours Dotty, or an NGS garden...or both!? Thanks for showing it!

Beautiful but it makes me wish my premium bonds would come up :) I love the blue walls but don't know if I would have the courage (or imagination!) to tackle something like this. A real treat to see - looking forward to the next blog.

Yes Gee, those statues look quite expensive. I often fancy a statue or ornament, but I can never bring myself to pay that much money for just an ornament for my garden!

Wow! I could spend all day looking around that garden. Some people are genius, to see what can be done, & by the sounds of it still looking forward to improve, not that I can see how you improve on this garden. Amazing x

A beautiful garden ,there's so much of interest in it ,she is a very brave lady I'm not sure that I would have been brave enough to take a pot of paint into the garden like that but it works ! is this where you were inspired to have your chinese area Angela ?

Love every thing about it except the Blue Paint calming it is not, for me it overpowers the garden around it,It would have to go.

That lady could bottle her creativity and imagination and make a fortune! and nerve, too, come to that - how many people, having thoguht of a blue wall in the first place, would go through with it? It's not to everyone's taste, but it's certainly a striking feature - love the way it bends and curves to almost-enclose small areas.

lol you've got us agog for Part 2!

Wow from me as well ,love the Heuchera in that raised bed with the blue wall, which I really like :-))

Thanks to all for your lovely comments, I thought you would like it, I knew the blue would not be to everybody's taste, but it does work in this particular setting, there are still areas that Connie is working on, the tropical which I know will knock your socks off when she plants up this summer, she is a very talented lady and it is a pleasure to have her as a friend........the odd thing is, she loves our garden which is so totally different from hers, that's gardening for you!!
The second part is on now.......

Isn`t it great when people have the courage of their convictions, this is one very talented lady. Although for me the blue wall is a tad too far for others ists the bees knees and this is what gardening is all about. Can`t wait to see the next instalment.

Although not my style (lazy and scruffy) of gardening I can appreciate the the love and care which has gone in to this beautiful garden. It's fantastic being able to see all different types of gardens on here and I would love to wander round it and and take ideas from it to put in my own. Your friend Connie is a very talented gardener :-)
