We had hail here but not the storm .

The planter looks great Dotty. Wow, so much hail! I can't believe the GC's have so many plants available - in February! Snow in the forecast tomorrow. Nice to get to the GC no matter what time of year :-)

I had read that snow was forecast for Friday!

The garden centre we went to last week was full of temptations just like those Dd, so good to spend time admiring, even better when you find what you want, good job you were back at home when that storm arrived, it must have sounded really loud, your hubby has made a good job of the planter, it looks lovely.

You made a fantastic job of that planter! :) I love that planted up piano too! The weather was lovely here too. Mostly sunny, a bit chilly and windy, but spring is definitely creeping in! :)

Lovely arrangement in the planter DD. Must be wonderful to have a choice of two large GCs within reach.

Stera we have 5 GC all within two miles and all with decent cafes, so very lucky, so they have to be competitive...
OH does the planters K.....I design most of the garden.

Dawn there were so many plants for sale, I was quite surprised.
MB we try and get to a GC at least once a week, Tuesdays are extra points day!! and what do points make ? why plants of course!!, it is a brilliant scheme run by a small family nurseries,for every penny we spend we collect points, and Tuesdays we get triple!! amazing how quickly they mount up.

that Gc looks so spick and span for spring...love the piano planted up..strangely enough there is a piano in my garden too....it just used as a shelf and the cat loves to walk across the keys...lol

sounds like a full day, DD! but at least the hail didn't come after you'd put the new plants out, and flattened them (tha hail flattened them, I mean, not you!)

Such a nice trip out Dd, I love that piano, we had to get rid of a very old one recently, never thought of doing this though, brilliant idea. We had a heavy hail storm recently too, didnt dare go out though to take photos Lol. I love your basket, very pretty. :)

sigh, GM, I joined the local Freecycle, and in one week I could have had my pick of three pianos - if I'd somewhere to put them, and if I'd been able to collect them, and if i'd been able to get them tuned. All I'd need to do then is learn how to play it! I suppose an electronic keyboard is less hassle, but, sigh, a real piano ...

The garden centre we went to in Norwich looked very much like this at the weekend Angela I'm wondering if they belong to the same group instead of a piano they had a bath tub and water plants in the toilet callimg it a Bog garden Lol ... I could see a lot of the plants in flower had been 'forced' and couldnt help wondering how they would survive any frosts ...

poor plants, being forced to grow up before they're ready. that'll lead to teenage tantrums ...

What an unusual garden centre Dotty ! I would expect to see a piano at a RHS show but not in a place like this. It looked a lovely place too !

Yes it was Julia do you have one near you ? I've lost count of the times we've looked round and then refused to buy anything because they charge twice as much as a nursery , I can't believe what people are paying for even the commonest plants .....

There is one of the "Cherry Lane" group near to us that are quite good , it's one of the QD shops too .
They are fairly reasonable .

I loved being with you on your outing and think the planter looks really lovely. So many days have thrown everything at us just lately but I am glad you saw some sunshine. The colour at the garden centre looks so pretty and so tempting too!

There's a 'Cherry lane ' one at Fritton not far from our daughter Julia we sometimes pop in after a visit to her ...

We had hailstones here on Thursday Dottie. The garden centre looks a great place to stop for a cuppa and buy some plants. Everything there looks nice and healthy. Your planter looks full of colourful foliage and nicely set out. It's dull and raining here this morning.

Gee thanks we had another hail storm the other day, but yesterday was so warm, had our coffee outside, not today though!! it is freezing.....

Amy no this was not a Notcutts GC it is called Garsons and there are only two in the country one in Esher Surrey and the other Hampshire, both have restaurants and farm shops, gift shops etc, brilliant for Christmas shopping, and the plants are reasonable, and if they fail you can get your money back!!

We are lucky to have so many GCs and nurseries to chose from, and all the staff know us now.....I cannot imagine how lol
