😱Well what a day that was!!

Having decided not to open the garden this year, we then decided that we would, and do a pop-up for the NGS ….as it was looking particularly nice in April and May… of course…..we had not bargained for the dreadful weather in June!!ಥ‿ಥ it just goes to show you can never be too complacent…… especially in England.
Needless to say we did not get many visitors because the garden had not been entered into the little yellow book which does make quite a difference…lesson learned!(๑•﹏•)
Luckily the day was going to get better……our county organiser turned up unexpectedly and presented us with the coveted engraved trowel and certificate for opening our garden for 10 years!! which was a lovely surprise and made up for the lack of visitors.
And then to top that!! our lovely granddaughter Catherine and her partner arrived with our great granddaughter Ivy who we had not been able to see (both of us had a flu type virus) and because she and her mother had both been in hospital with e-coli since her birth,(what a nightmare that was, for all concerned) she is now 13 days old!! and has just been given the all clear…. so every cloud has a silver lining….
when I get permission to put a photograph on of our lovely Ivy I will do so, because she really is a gorgeous little baby…….and has been through so much….
So that was Sunday 16th June a day we won’t forget, and today the 19th is our 56th Wedding Anniversary…….quite a week!!!
Thanks for looking in, will be adding photos when I can…

Great Grandparents? You aren't old enough for that!! Congratulations Angela...how lovely! Looking forward to the photo. :) x I don't think I shall ever get the engraved trowel. Scott is already fed up of opening the garden...mostly because of the weather. :S

After the last few weeks I felt like a great grandmother and looked it, believe me Karen, it is bad enough when your children give birth, but even worse when your grandchildren do, and everything goes wrong, poor Catherine went through the mill, enough to put her off having
any more children......
Luckily I didn't do any cakes just a few homemade biscuits! but it is difficult with the weather being so changeable!! I can understand Scott!

Many thanks Wildrose, it was a traumatic few days, with the little one in intensive care, but hopefully all that is behind us, and looking forward to her running around the garden, and no doubt picking all the heads off the flowers!
Callie thank you so much, hectic weekend. but an enjoyable one.need a rest to get over all the excitement....

Here in Bracknell, we often remark "our garden is good enough to open just now." The looking back, we realise we DID open on that day in the past so now we are getting the benefits.
Congratulations on making it to 'the trowel' - an heirloom for Ivy maybe?
