In the Pink

That’s lovely Janey. I’ve never grown foxgloves but this year the birds decided I should have a couple ... deep pink like yours! It’s a joy to see the bees so happy with them, so I’m very grateful 🙂.

I too have this lovely colour form. I much prefer it to the peachy ones that seem to be flooding the market at present. flower fashion again!

That last photo is foxglove perfection. To see them in dappled sunlight is really beautiful.

Thanks Sheila, yes they are wild ones, the GC ones never grow for me and like yours these are self sets. I do like the fact that wherever they pop up it looks right..:))

Yes me too Sbg, and the bees absolutely adore them don't they, those spotted throats are just amazing!

How lucky to have a free gift Janey..Those are a lovely colour too,so how very thoughtful was that ? Lol. I shall live in hope that I might get a nice surprise one day.. :o) x

Foxgloves are a favourite for me but I have trouble keeping them. Grew loads from seed over the last 3 years but they seem to dwindle, so I envy you! This year we have an "allsorts" mixture appearing. I planted out native pink ones but have ended up with all shapes and sizes and shades... I think some seeds must have lingered in the soil and now germinated.
I can enjoy yours, though. They look very robust. The pics. are attractive.

they are wonderful..and all the more so for coming to you of their own accord. I can't keep them to save my soul. I have tried to no avail. have been struggling to establish some delphiniums..and wanted foxgloves too. Delphs are finally showing up... bought two very expensive GC plants and last season I spread seed. Ange, I've had the same trouble, I've bought them or seeds and maybe a few have grown and been ok, then you expect to see them in two years time and no, but wild ones flourish. I do love white ones, but they don't grow for me. Yes, mine are all sizes and shapes like yours..

What a twosome Lori, Delphi and foxgloves, stunning! It certainly is very odd that no foxgloves have taken in your garden. Over here they are a wayside plant, amongst damp grasses and dog roses. Maybe they see my garden as a wayside...haha!

They are Dd, and even now there are small flowers blooming round the main stems..
