Garden Udate

What a difference a month makes, the past few weeks has seen a mixture of sunshine and showers which has really benefitted the garden, everything has put on so much growth! I thought I would take a few pictures so I can compare with the previous month. Hope you will enjoy having a little peep;0))
This group of pots makes a colourful sight as you step through the door onto the patio, the pots have all filled out and if you look you will be able to spot the Fuchsia “The Emperess of Prussia” a gift from Bloomer last year., I took lots of cuttings and they are all doing well in pots and baskets around the garden.
There are identical pots either side of the steps planted with Violas, Pansies and Fuchsia..
The Basket on the side fence is planted up with Petunias and White Viola trailing CreepingJenny, it really blends nicely with the ivy which covers the fence.
As we start to climb the steps onto the main garden you get an enticing view of the Peonies which have just opened and make a dazzling show.
I just love these beautiful blooms which seem to improve each year.
We are now on the left side of the garden which is the shady side and therefore is a little later in opening. The tree in flower is called “Dipelta” It is a lovely old fashioned specimen, which is not often found these days, the blossom is very similar to a Weigela
Closeup of Dipelta blossom. The Rockery looks attractive for most of the year and has really filled out since it was first made last year. The Little Pond, looking rather over grown as the For- Get- Me- Nots, Gerainiums, and the Aquilegia have run riot this year, but I like it as it looks so much more natural and I even found a little newt living in there
Sorbia “Seb” A lovely shrub with very attractive foliage, which has subtle colour changing Feathery leaves, it also flowers too but the foliage is the biggest attraction.
Views of the sunnyside of the garden looking towards the house. This is my favourite border and its jammed packed with shrubs plants and flowers.Oriental Poppies, Roses, Clematis, Conifers,Hebe, Sedum and numerous flowers.
Geraniums, Geums, Thalictrum,Foxgloves, Penstemon, and Welsh Poppies are among many others in flower at the moment.
Princess Victoria, Louise Orential Poppy
Golden Showers Rose, first bud to open.

As always Carole your garden looks stunning, the rose Golden showers is identical to mine, bud orange/ yellow, and the big flower just yellow, so I've decided it's Golden Showers!. Your Penstemon and Dicentra were certainly bargains, whats the Penstemon called, I've got three, would have had four, but lost one last year.Your borders are full to the brim with colour, wish mine were as full, got to pack some more in is the answer!.How do get to back for pruning etc. Will catch upwith PM when I get back from the garden centre!!!hope I get some bargains like you!

Your garden is looking vibrant, Carole and you've some interesting plants too. The depelta is very pretty and I really like your pond area. The photo with peonies and birdtable/house is a lovely one and thanks for reminding me of the name of the poppy in my front wall! Am surprised to see anemones still in flower, but how nice.

Hi Val thanks for your lovely comments, nice that you have now identified your Rose it is one of my favourites! We did get some great bargains sorry I dont know the name of the Penstemon, most of the plants didnt have the names on just the species, sorry you lost one of yours, some of them dont seem very hardy I only have one in the front garden that came through the winter.
Lol I do get a few scratches when Im pruning the back and some plants get lost amongst others! catchup later;0)
