Open Gardens

I’ve never visited a garden in The Yellow Book until last weekend…..~We were having a weekend away with friends…just the other end of Northumberland and came across a notice for an Open Garden, this one was for The Red Cross…in addition to the open days for TYB……
What a wonderful garden…..5 acres of loveliness….well…you can see for yourselves……The house was rather nice too….would have loved a nosey round that!! The lady whose garden it is has one gardener to help her….I noticed that her hands were crippled with arthritis. Apparently she is a landscape gardener and spends a lot of time in Australia..

Very pretty. Nice pic of the rosehips. lol. I ate some of these with my hubbys Aunt when we were visiting in Estonia. Never tried them before, but she insisted they were full of vitamins, and as she was eating them, i felt obliged to join her. :o))

Mmmm, very very nice Alice, it's a beautiful garden, that topiary was very good indeed.
Why were the sections of lawn marked out ?

Pip c....it took about an hour to download the pics.....glad you liked them.
Louise....the areas of marked out lawn were where they had to re-seed as the chickens had "escaped" and made a mess of it!!

I didn't see you in my back garden AA? What are all these people doing trampling all over my lawn? Lol

A lovely place to visit and your right about the house as well, I would love to have had a nosey round there!

Now 'that's' more like it, Alice! I bet you spent more than 45 minutes there...it looks lovely, and a garden to lose yourself in. :-))))

You bet I did!!!....about an hour and a bit...when a heavy rain shower sent everyone scattering....I did admit to the lady who owned the place that I was "slightly" envious of her garden......she looked surprised!!...lol

If it was your garden Ian....why weren't you there at the gate to greet me...with a large G&T!!!...lol
