Warkworth Show 2010

Our local show was held at the weekend…..it was the 139th Warworth Show and is quite a decent sized one. Plenty of entries in veg, baked goods, arts and crafts, childrens entries; they had a fun run as well and a fancy dressed competition. The floral displays were excellent as usual, and….where my interest lies….the dahlia classes.
I’m very much a novice at growing and showing….this is my second year and the main competition is a gentleman who shows at National level and is a National Dahlia Judge..so you can imagine my delight when I made a good showing!!
4 vases of 3 blooms…..Marston Lilac and Mary’s Jomanda…2nd place
Vase of cactus and/or semi cactus….Cherwell Goldcrest and Kiwi Gloria..
2nd place
Vase of small and/or miniature decoratives…Amber Festival…2nd place
Will post other pics later….so as not to bore you all at once…lol

Congratulations. I love seeing other peoples Flower Shows, we will not be bored I promise. You have staged your exhibits very well. It would be helpful if you could show who came first and third also or even just a photo of the class. Request probably too late for this year but for aspiring exhibitors it is important to recognise why we are placed first, second or third.

Congratulations Amblealice. You did really well. There is a National Dahlia Show at Shepton Mallet in Somerset 3rd to 5th September. I am hoping to go to that as it isnt far from me, so may be able to show a few photos after that.
