Allotment - Part 3....I still don't believe it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Just to update you on the saga!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When hubby was passing the allotments yesterday….he noticed that the polytunnel tubes had been taken down and stacked behind the shed, near the fence…together with the flooring planks. Today when he walked down to the garden he noticed that they had gone…..so had the pile of pallets…….and all the edging bricks round the bed I had weeded…..and along the path. The bricks I had used to hold down the weed membrane I had laid had also been taken….and replaced with a few bits of wood.. The shed has been emptied and left open….I reckon if it had been a decent one….she would have taken that as well!!….it doesn’t even have a floor. She also took the plastic tool store.
I don’t even think it belonged to her anyway…or the polytunnel. It was just a spiteful act because she couldn’t get her own way.
At least it feels as if it is MINE now, and our own padlock is on the door. I’ll download a few pics tomorrow.

Hopefully thats it now? You can get on with making it yours.

I know what you mean Spritz.....Brian is worried in case she comes back....fortunately she lives in the next village and so its unlikely our paths will cross.........
Yes Denise, I can get on with it now.....depending on the weather of course !!

I dont think she will come back because she has removed everything so has no reason to! Try to put it out of your mind and enjoy it.
9 Feb, 2010

remember she is more to be pitied than scolded. I bet if she moves house she'd take the light bulbs. some people are just plain stingey.
enjoy the tasks ahead. love to see photos as and when.
9 Feb, 2010
Put this unpleasantness behind you and look forward, because from now on Alice, it's all yours. You're going to have some hard work ahead, but also a lot of fun and enjoyment and best of all - the tastiest, freshest fruit and veg. Go for it girl ! ;-))

Sorry that you have had to deal with this kind of attitude. Unfortunately there are some bitter people around. The best way now is forward. You have a blank slate to start off with and I wish you all the best with it :~)))

What an immature person she is.
Give her everything she wants ..... then give her 'the boot' !

Good that you now have your allotment under lock and key...!

I could hardly believe what I was reading !!! I just hope this really is the end of your problems with this allotment and that you can get on with enjoying your summer there.

This may sound awful, if it was me I would be glad she took what she did, even the bricks, as then there is no bad pressence left of hers or what she has touched. I understand her anger because she has lost, but it should not of been taken out on you but the commitee as it was their decision, not yours, you are an inocent party. Better you know how she really feels then if any of your stuff in the future gets vandalised, you at least know who the culprit is to follow, to catch, which I would not put passed her.
11 Feb, 2010
Please count me in the 'gang' too - I could bring some choice nasty comments with me - not violence, just words to tell her what I think of her!
11 Feb, 2010
That is what I have been thinking Sixpense!!....I'll be keeping all my eyes and ears open!!
Spritz...You'r in "The Gang"....wonder what those "choice nasty comments " would be.....from such a nice young lady as you......lol......:-o))

a long time ago,I used to buy books for my daughter, called The Garden Gang,
around the time that Mr Men came out ..(ah,nostalgia ) Does anyone else remember them?...If we have to resort to a name ,this would fit the bill perfectly.
I think I might be Sally Strawberry, as its the only one I can remember
offhand...think we still have some in the loft, but no way will I.be going up there to look !...:

Hi, as an allotment keeper myself I know all the hard work and money that i have put into my allotment, it sounds as if you should sit down with the allotment association and bash this out between you and the "old" keeper.
I have some expensive tools in my shed (that i brought myself at great expence) and i know that i would be horrified if someone was to take all my tools.
You are lucky if the allotment association gives you have a shed, when i took over my allotment i had to clear all the old carpets etc.. from the plot myself and 3 years later the soil is still not as good as it should be, along with that i have had to get a shed, sort out the boundrys and try to grow things!! Hopefully this year will be better :-)

Hi Katkins.....thanks for your comments:
The rules of our Association state that when you give up, or in this case are evicted, you have to remove your belongings within a certain timescale. This person took everything she could, including bricks edging the paths, and its doubtful half the stuff belonged to her anyway. Folk rarely take away sheds on this site..too much bother to dismantle and hire a vehicle to take away.
Any disagreements are between the Association and the previous tenant. This is all behind me now and I am concentrating on getting the garden ship shape ready for the growing season.
Hope you have a good season on your allotment Katkins :-)

It beggars belief how stubborn people can be. How desperate to actually take the bricks and replace with bits of wood ! Stay positive.
