Cosmos ‘Seashells’ & ‘Sensations’ on Plot 12A
I thought I would do a slightly different blog to the customary ones I normally write – do I hear a sigh of relief? This will be ONLY on Cosmos flowers on my allotment.
September 2012 – Cosmos ‘Seashells Mixed’
These were the first to flower & have therefore flowered the longest as they are still in flower at the time of writing on Halloween.
I like these Cosmos ‘Seashells Mixed’ because of the quilled petals as the flowers open. Once completely open they look similar to other varieties of Cosmos.
October 2012 – Cosmos ‘Seashells Mixed’
They are really taking off now, which is rather a shame because in the next few weeks we can expect the first frosts which will put an end to all this beauty.
August 2012 – Cosmos ‘Sensation Mixed’
Here are some of the very first flowers to open together with Snapdragons, ‘Monarch Mixed’, which gave such a great show! Unfortunately owing to the cold, wet summer of 2012 they got Antirrhinum Rust pretty badly.

Those Cosmos are stunning.
Do you think their seeds will have blown to other allotments and so will be growing even further afield next year ?

They're very pretty. You've had lots of late flowers on them :o)
I like Cosmos because they have pretty leaves aswell as flowers.

I love the leaves too, like fennel leaves or dill..

Than you everyone for your comments, I'm so pleased you all like them so much! :-)) They really have stolen my heart this year! I want to collect some seeds so I can sow them again next year & also have some on my balcony.
TT, I've no idea if that will happen. At the moment they are far too wet to go further afield than the foot of the plants!
