This is garden within a mile of where I live,And have to admit have never before visited when the snowdrops are in flower The owners are the Bannermans well known garden designers. Clients include Andrew lloyd Webber, Prince Charles,And the British memorial Garden to 911 in Manhattan to name a few. His home garden is still being constructed but still worth a visit.Mr Bannerman is very down to earth in fact could not have been much closer as i talked to him this morning.
Still planting Snowdrops
The house is 13 century with Church and Tithe Barn
The one and only hellebore to be seen in flower there will be many more when it warms up Nice use of the copper vessel
This was in an adjoining field ,nice for a holiday just me and the dog
In the shaded woodland the colour became more intense
The Theatre is very inpressive they use it for Auriculas as season move on
This is where you spend the money Quite a few at £15 per bulb, my pocket was lighter when i came away, good job i told the wife it was to cold for her to come never mind she will have her flowers delivered tomorrow

What were the bulbs costing £15? I must propagate some.
I like the mix of yellow in with the snowdrops. Are they winter aconites?

Hi Bjs,
Glad you enjoyed the visit to Hanham Court. We were delighted to see this Blog for several reasons.
Julian and Isabel Bannerman are friends of ours, and we have the wonderful priviledge of seeing the garden regularly throughout the year.
It has just been voted as number one 'dreamy garden' in the U.K- and has beaten off other leading open gardens in the U.K- a recognition that is richly deserved. We live five minutes away from this sensational garden, and I help when the garden at Hanham Court is open to the public.
We will be there next Wednesday, February 17th, on the Snowdrop open day in aid of The National Gardens Scheme.
It really is a 'must see' garden!
More details about the garden at Hanham Court and the Bannerman's work can be found on their website: www.hanhamcourt.co.uk
You must also pop over to see our garden when we open this year- it will be lovely to see you.We are only a few miles away from Hanham.

I really enjoyed this blog Brian. Look to be lovely gardens and the snowdrops are a lot further out than when I had my snowdrop day at Colesbourne a couple of weeks ago. Lovely mass of aconites too. I'm very envious of the trough and copper vesel full of cyclamen coum. I bet your pockets were lighter!

Hi Bjs, apologies as I'm feeling a little embarassed. I've just found this blog and now realise that I've posted a very similar blog on Hanham Court from our visit on 17th Feb, sorry!
What a shame we didn't bump into you though, will you be going again in May for the next NGS Day?
