Heucheras and heucherellas

Since becoming a Goyer I have become rather keen on these plants. The flowers I considered unimportant. Yesterday, just catching a glimpse of a part of my newly planted border, I stood in wonder. The ethereal dottiness of the flowers held me spellbound. I was once again a child…looking at a fairy grove…..or perhaps I’m going gaga ? :-)
Those of you in the know will have noticed that both are heucherellas, Sweet Tea (Vicky’s Plantagogo) and an unknown one off Ebay which I wasn’t keen on…how blind was I? I am once again looking through my Plantagogo catalogue…and yes I’m going to log on…and buy more of these and tiarellas too:-)
I’ve decided to add some heucheras which are also in flower now first is h. fire chief, the second pic is of the marvellous ruffled marmalade and the last is georgia peach which has been brilliant right through our awful winter, and has just had some tired leaves removed. It usually looks better than this

I like the flowers, they soften the planting and they don't last long anyway.

I did buy a few from Plantagogo this year Terra, so I do have some lovely ones, but I NEED some more and I have no tiarellas. Just didn't appreciate the flowers before, could have been on your blog ' I used to like you' etc :-)

Not ga ga then bloomer? I was rather waxing lyrical lol. It's funny how plants you've always overlooked suddenly become objects of desire isn't it, must be this site:-)

Hi Aster, I think I can blame a few people on here for making me so keen on this lovely plant family, but especially Vicky, did you see the brilliant piece about her and her husband on Hampton Court program? I've had quite a few plants from her and all doing well:-)

Lovely blog and fantastic photos! :~))))))))x

Hi Sandra, I've tried to order a new one from Vicky's called heuchera starry night which has rather tall flowers over a long time but they are not available yet. When I get one I'll put a pic on. That's the problem with Goy..too many lovely pics lol:-)

Lo Flo, probably right, I keep getting a little obsessional about certain plants, it's heleniums and geums at the moment, must buy some. I wonder if there's a cure? Do I want to be cured? Nah:-)

Have you got a plantagogo catalogue Sandra? If you haven't, whatever you do, don't send for one lol. So many lovelies, and not just heucheras etc, but you wouldn't believe the different types there are. I've spent hours looking through it:-)

I know just how easy it is to get hooked on these as I've added quite a few this year, just love them. Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' is still on the wants list at the moment but it won't be long, lol.

It really is a beauty Wagger. I've got a few more than are shown here, but I don't think they're in quite the right place so I'll move them this autumn. They are Midas touch, Havana and cascade dawn. I blame Vicky lol:-)

Thanks Hilda, my h. georgia peach started to look wrong, took it out of the pot and all its roots had been eaten by vine weevil grubs:-( There was one half inch piece of root left beneath some leaves, so I've all that's left very deeply in the border and I'm just crossing my fingers:-)
