NEW BABIES

These little’uns are my new babies After Meggie (my lovely rough haired jack girl) had to be put to sleep, I decided to buy new friend for Rosie. I tried all the rescues and they never got back to me. I wanted one a little smaller than Rosie so she could be boss dog, she’s 15 or 16 now. So almost 2 years ago I looked on Gum Tree, it’s heart breaking how many little dogs need new homes, I suppose people get fed up with them. anyway there was a little boy in manchester and my lovely son-in-law drove me to buy him. it was a family outing including Rosie to make sure they got on. Back we all came with our lovely Henry, he was approximately 18 months, he was living with a toddler whom he loved. Sadly, Rosie was not interested in playing so I had to chase him upstairs and around the house, tiring! decided he needed a friend who would play with him and give me a rest. Another little dog on gum tree in Birmingham, a chorkie (chihuahua/yorkie) a little girl this time, I had had Henry neutered. When we arrived at the house, they had a little 15 year old yorkie with no teeth and bandy, a three legged cat and Mia, she’s tiny. She was with me
for a couple of weeks or so when I noticed she was putting on a lot of weight, you’ve guessed it, that little old Yorkie had a final fling! In the small wee hours of the morning 1st November Mia produced a little girl, the other 2 pups were too big for her to push out, so took taxi to the emergency vets for caesarian. Then taxi back later to bring mum and new family home, almost fainted when charged well over nine hundred pounds! Christmas day was fun, had to put pups in spare bedroom as I have my family here for Christmas day and was afraid babies may get stood on. . Preparing Xmas dinner Xmas Eve with a playpen in the kitchen was a challenge too:-) I couldn’t persuade any friends or neighbours that what was missing from their lives was a puppy so when they were 11 weeks old the 2 little boys were found lovely homes by a local small dog rescue. They sent me pics of the boys with their new "parents and yes I kept the little girl, Lillabet. If I go out for a few hours I get a lovely welcome:) I am at least the third home of both Henry and Mia:(

On the left is Mia lillabets mum, Henry in the centre and Lillabet on the right. Cute aren’t they? and of course Rosie is never alone. Hope my ramblings make sense:)

Fascinating story with more drama than a Cormac McCarthy novel! You've got your share of 'curve balls' but you seem to weather them well and look at all those big brown eyes staring up at you. Congratulations on your new family.

Thanks Bg, with each new family member I panicked, but they bring such joy although they can be a pain. Never had such tiny dogs:)

Aww very cute, my family are longing for a dog, may be soon 😊 A similar thing happened to a work colleague who adopted a dog from Romania recently and cut a long story short was pregnant and had 9 puppies!!! The charity did have them back but she did all the hard work, amazing :-))

Hi Daylily:-). The pups wrought havoc, the boys were the worst, especially Mo. He was the biggest, the most intelligent and the naughtiest. Georgie was gentle and poor little Lilabet was forever hiding from her big brothers. Many things were chewed, including my sofas. I had to replace the fabric underneath my small sofa. They chewed the legs of side tables, especially the cane one (they were very fond of cane) and the longest carpet needed deep clean. Eventually I managed to train them to puppy pads. I fenced off my garden beds, but they still managed to bypass the fences. I wept when the boys went, but must admit to a feeling of relief:-)

well you are giving them all a loving home and that is the most important thing isn't it. lots of love to go all around.
my daughter has just rescued a cat that has been waiting rehoming for 9 months. He is so ugly he is now 'cute' her words not mine. he is 12 yrs old and is 1 of 45 that were seized back in October. People should have to be 'vetted' before they are allowed to keep pets!!

I agree Sbg. I see I wrote longest carpet instead of lounge carpet sounds like I have very long rooms:-). My daughter's cat is a rescue and she adores my granddaughter Aisling. Bit nervous with strangers still:-)

Oh my goodness BA you are a star too what you have done, it's not easy is it :-))

Oh that has made my night Ba, I loved reading this and your little furry family look adorable, we know all about the accidents that occur when one has puppies but we get over them, luckily they soon grow out of the chewing furniture antics, the love you get back makes you forgive them anyway, I know that only too well, how could you possibly resist those little faces...Looking forward to reading many more stories about them...

I can assure you Lincs that what you call accidents were quite deliberate, the pups were on a mission to seek and destroy, especially Mo, now called Oscar by his new mum. The lady who runs the rescue sees him regularly as a friend of hers adopted him. Georgie is now called Pablo, possibly because of his little mustache which may make him look a little mexican. He was adopted by a couple with a 12 year old boy, so all's well that ends well. wish I could find my pics of them when they were all here. If I do I will put them on:)

What a lovely story and what patience and energy you must have ! They are so cute !

Hi Rose, not so sure about the energy lol. My lovely old jack russell Rosie sleeps in my bedroom still and the little ones sleep in the kitchen, they're quite well behaved now (most of the time) and I wouldn't be without them. No way I can have a holiday though:)
