Village Country Market

Today was the village monthly Country Market. We have a lovely selection of stalls, and of course this month lots of garden produce as many of us have a surplus of beans and tomatoes etc. We had a lovely selection today and fortunately a good attendance. There was a real buzz about the place today, with friends getting together for a cup of tea or coffee and cake, and a lovely natter. I took a few photos to show you.

Thanks Sixpence. It was a lovely morning, and yes the first one was my plants. I did buy a cake there, it was ginger with crystalised ginger pieces in it.

Great! We also had our town flower show today and I went, but I forgot my camera....yours looks a lot posher! ;))

Oh really, I think ours was probably more informal and friendly than a town one would be, but thats just my imagination running riot .

Yes, Carnoustie is officially a town but you really wouldn't call it a town....we have a very village atmosphere and probably less shops than a lot of villages have too! Ours is very informal, friendly and 'rustic'! :))

Oh thats nice then, hope you enjoyed it.

yes, thank you, but I have to say your preserves table puts ours to shame, and all the lovely bunting too! I think I would have enjoyed yours even more! :))

Nice of you to say that. Thanks

It's good to see that villages still uphold traditions like this, Cinders ... I do like those wood clocks ... and so many jars of preserves & pickles! ... :o)))

how lovely,Cinders..I really like visiting places like this..glad you had a good day..will your cake last the weekend ?Lol.
20 Aug, 2011
Yes Shirley I agree, I like those clocks too. They weren't expensive either, I think they were about £15. Might have to get one next time, what with (Xmas) not far off, and the jams and pickles are really excellent. Such a variety a job to choose.
Sandra the cake will last because its in the freezer. I am going to be out tomorrow, so it will come out next weekend when I have visitors.
