Streptocarpus.

My Streptocarpus are now in full flower, so here are a few pictures of them. The blue Teleri is in fact darker than the picture. My camera is not very good with blues.
Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Do you keep them in the house all the time ? Some
advice would be useful for beginners.
Beautiful colours.

Thanks all. Yes I do keep them in the house all the time Diane, I tried them in the greenhouse one year, but something kept nibbling them, and it got too hot. They need a little more watering in the summer time, but don't ever let them stand in water all the time. Just give them a little if watering from the bottom, you can see it disappear as it soaks up, or you can give a little from the top if you prefer. The leaves will droop if they need water, but likewise they will droop if you give them too much. But in this case they will probably not revive and you will have drowned it. Keep deadheading, and they will serve you well. Don't be tempted to put in a large pot just the next size up when repotting. Hope that helps.

Its lovely to see them, especially all together like that. I do love them, and sometimes I'm tempted to get one, but no, they're not for me, I would overwater them and put them in too big pots...I know I would. I'm hopeless with indoor plants! lol! Thanks for sharing your beautiful collection with us Cinders!

Thank you Karen. I'm sure you would be ok with them you know. I have been overrun with them this year, I am a glutton for punishment! I do it to sell at our market, but I think people are a bit like you and afraid they will kill them, also I don't like parting with them either. I really must NOT grow any more this year.!

Lovely plants Cinders. I had them for ages. Then Moth orchids but they petered out. Now I am giving it a rest for a while. I sometimes found I ended up with huge leaves and few flowers with the Streps. I had a Constant Nympth Strep for about 20 years.

Thanks Sandra. Perhaps you had them in pots that were too big and they made leaves instead of flowers Sandra, that can happen, but you can always trim the leaves if they get too big. I do that sometimes.
