~ I think from tomorrow its a few minutes every day~ when we used to go to Newcastle for Christmas for two weeks we used to really notice the difference when we came back home!
I am all for keeping lighter evenings as long as possible~maybe we do need to have a look at this Summer time malarkey!

I agree Arlene

Dont know if any one remembers but 1971 or 1972 they did not put clocks back, for 1year to try it out, but my sons and all school children where going to school in the dark and had to wear arm bands.

~nowadays children walking to school on their own is the exception rather than the rule as most parents won't let their children walk because of the perceived threat from child molesters plus there is all this dayglo stuff on bags and trainers etc~it wouldn't be unsurmountable?
21 Dec, 2009
Your right, when mine went to school most children walked.
21 Dec, 2009
I've been looking forward to today, Carol! :-))))

My late father told me that he remebered when they did a trial and put the clocks forward for 2 hours ..... he said it was light until 10pm in the summer. This must have been in the 1930's or 40's.
21 Dec, 2009
So have i Barbara, and tonight it starts, dawn up here in summer with us being on the west coast and the sun sets in the west it is still light at 10 & 10-30 at night.
22 Dec, 2009
i thought of that yesterday........... roll on the spring..........
22 Dec, 2009
