Had a great time, even though it rained most of the time. Spent 3 days in Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine) It was great to see my family. The camp site wasn’t very good, we were on a slope, It never stopped raining, and to top it all ….. we had the the campers from hell next to us. At 11pm i went out and asked them if i could get some sleep … the …… lady said.. I have got 6 kids and it is their holiday, I replyed, there should be no noise after 10pm (didn’t know if that was true or not) anyway, that didn’t make any difference, the noise continued till after midnight, there wasn’t anyone to complaint to. we won’t be going to that camp site again.
We then went up to the Yorkshire dales, 5 days, It was brilliant, we saw lots of wildlife, the waterfalls were spectacular, especially after the storm we had. We visited a few places. Then we went to Norfork for 3 days, We saw my husbands family, then cam home.
No matter where you go in the world, I personaly think that it’s good to come home. : )

Welcome home. You'll have a lot of catching up to do on GOY.

Gail, I empathise with your stress at the camp site. I was at a charity dog show recently and was parked on a slope with my little tent behind the car. The steep incline certainly gives you back ache after a while, or one leg longer than the other!

Some noisy people then parked alongside, which wasn't ideal. This was for only about 5 hours, so no wonder you were stressed after 3 days of disruption.

It's good to know Yorkshire and Norfolk worked out better and you saw wildlife and waterfalls. Any photos?

I hope your garden was well behaved while you were away.
Welcome home.

I think you were very brave, camping in such lousy weather, and tackling the anti-social neighbours. Holidays always seem to be great, though, don't they/ but you're right...there's no place like home.

welcome home im pleased you enjoyed it. i hope you had a modern tent not like the 1 we used to have when i was a kid, my dad would shout "dont touch the sides" because it was 1 off the old canvas type that let the rain in when you touched it lol.
