Captain's Blog (8) "A Safe Haven"

Pics from my “second garden” taken today. Poetic verse by GOYer Simplylyn, posted in response to my previous blog. :-))
A Safe Haven
The pirate’s hanging up his hat
He’s going to have a rest -
From sailing seas and plundering
And fighting foes with zest!
An ol’ (sea) dog maybe, but bow an’ arrow?Yo ho ho!!!
His cutlass he has packed away,
Likewise his black eye patch.
Gone are his boots and “golden chains” -
He’s bolted down the hatch.
“Amazin’ Grace”. Amazin’ly, she stands atop the access hatch for the septic tank – LOL!
What a new life has opened up!
Fresh air and sun and soil.
And views to gladden any heart
While resting from his toil.
The stream, which I’ll have to wade into, to allow passing dinghys :-))
And as he leans on trusty spade
Or fork or even hoe -
He’ll gaze around upon the scene
And watch the garden grow!
Thank You so Very much, Lyn! X
Just a few pics of the garden to end with :-Hmm… nice window, but needs more linear breakup, or whatever the term?
Hmm..lovely stream and banking needing “development”. Lovely logs, too! Great rhubarb for my new alllotment, which was discussed further, today.
I really like this birdbath/feeder!
Bluebells along the frontage
Took more pics, as I worked, but too many for here, so will keep for later. Isn’t this a great place to be on days off from pirateerin’??

Wonderful spot to work in your "spare " time David...Has an air of total peace...........

Oh it is really lovely! What beautiful photos. Everything looks so peaceful. Make sure you keep out any invaders along the stream. They have a crafty way of sneaking up when you are having a snooze so always keep someone up in the crow's-nest as lookout. I didn't spot a vegetable garden so I guess the owners were delighted to hear your request for an allotment area. Shall you allow them first dibs?
Glad you like the little ditty! It just came to me on the spur of the moment.
I feel another one coming on..............you have been warned by a shot across the bows. If I see you flying a 'No Boarders' flag I shall just save it (the pome I wrote!) on my computer.

Its so lovely it will not seem like work and your children are going to be in their element. All you need now is some warm sunny days and of course spare clothing for the children, wonder who is going to be the first to slip on their bottoms,,lol.......
Lyn I love your poem....

Many Thanks for the kind comments and good wishes. looking forward to visiting and doing something next week.
Yes, Lincslass, the weather could be a bit kinder, coudn't it? I think we all deserve some. Lyn, I didn't ask for an allotment space - they offered me it, even better. :-)) Will keep you posted as this develops.

Thank ye kindly, Mistress Sbg. And, this is certainly not going to be one o' those ship's chores!
Must devise a way of separating this "aw'fully big adventure" from our own garden treasure trails. :-))
Do you think you'd notice if that birdbath appeared in our own garden, lol??

You could remove the birdbath under the pretense of it needing repairs ;-)

I think so, too, Sbg - so, don't put ideas into my head, Sid - LOL! Looking forward to a day here on Thursday.

A book, Cristina? Well, there is a "Poems" page on Goypedia, if you want to take a look under "P"? I have seen a lot of fantastic poems and quotes on here, and someone has/is grouping them together on this page. :-))
Glad you enjoyed this!! (How is the arch doing?) :-))
