How lovely. After many years of trying to grow the plants I want in the conditions I have I'm finally embracing Beth Chatto's motto of 'Right pant, right place'. Hoping to go to visit her beautiful gardens later this Summer.

Pb123, I agree it's the best policy, if you remember to do it, I sometimes forget

Oops, I meant 'right plant' not 'right pant'!

Thank you Julia. We will endeavour to always continue Beth's teaching in our own gardens. I did that this year by purchasing two 5 tier plastic greenhouses to make the best use of the small amount of shade space I have, and had them fixed to the hut wall where they wont blow over. To look after the Auriculas very kindly given to me by Owdboggy .
May she rest in peace and rise again in Glory. Amen.
