Thanks Sue.
Hi Karen, it's been an exceptional February for me, not much frost damage. I'll go back and label that picture as I added out of excitement, it's Trillium chloropetalum (white)!
I planted 8 last year - 2 were dug up and taken, this and T kurabayashii are up and the other 4 no sign but fingers crossed probably later to show :-)

Lots of great plants starting to show. Your Trillium chloropetalum (whops something's eating it) is much earlier than mine, although my kurabayashii has been up since the New Year. Those Hellebores definitely look like some I've got.

the garden is looking wonderful. I must look for my trilliums, though the slugs really enjoy them :o(

The trillium were buried in leaves, only found them the other day, sorry to admit, they now have slug pellets around them.
My T Kurabayashii is up too :). The Hellebore are lovely Siris, I have dark ones too :)
Thanks Seaburn.

Thanks Dawn..I could see a bit of damage, but well done on getting them established! They will just get better every year now. :)

The Cornus has caught my eye. It would be lovely to have one in our garden.
I shall look it up and see if it could replace an Alemanchier that we lost last year.
Your garden, as always, looks very pretty indeed.

Sorry Dawn, my chlorapetalum should read grandiflorum and it didn't flower till 20 April last year, but my T. luteum has 3 small leaves above ground, too small still to flower this year I think.

Thanks Karen, next year I need to be proactive.
Wild, the cornus mas is quite nice, it's a bit bland but these tiny early flowers are good.
Siris, no sign of my Grandiflorum or Luteum yet.

Thank you Fever. How's your mole situation, dare I ask?
12 Mar, 2019
It was terrible for a while, I got desperate & went out & bought Jeyes Fluid, poured it down the holes at 1/20
dilution but it didn't go away. Someone suggested moth balls & I have pushed these into the holes. I can't see any hills today or yesterday so perhaps it has taken the hint!
Can't see any in my neighbour's garden either. Any idea how. Long they live?

Let’s hope they’ve gone! Ours has too, I can’t believe it, it/they appeared out of the blue around late November. I stock piled a heap of soil, we tried those sonic sounders, I put clove oil on cotton pads down the holes even pickled onions, we resorted to traps and failed, we found the run but it somehow bypassed the trap and covered it with soil then a couple of weeks ago no mole hills and none since so I have my fingers crossed.
