Sundials at Herstmonceux Castle

This is a large stone sundial on which you stand on the raised centre piece on the nearest date, we stood on June 21(it was in fact the 17th) and the shadow fell just before the number 12 and it was in fact 11:50
Behind the Bust of the Astronomer Royal is a large Metal one which was spot on, you can see the shadow is just before 12.

Funny you should say that BS I was there about a month ago bought a cherry tree and several perennials and rockery plants. But I went to the castle with my husband - I never go near a Nursery with him as it seriously curtails my purchases!
