Just almost finished this mosaic (some final tweeks and polish still to do) for my sister in law in Spain who I am going to visit in March her son my nephew died tragically ten years ago and his name was Barnaby and this is for Carols garden to hang from her olive tree I have tried to show the wings shimmering as they will in the sunshine:)

Thank you Meadowland really difficult to do something out of your comfort zone did that with Crystal strange when you do something you have in your mind it sort of turns out better but when you do something you know someone wants it's harder:) x What plans have you got for your garden this year?

Thank you Scottish not my best but it was difficult cos I didn't want it to bright in colours just in shimmers gentle and calm I guess:)

Hi Meadowland sounds like you have a good few projects for you garden this year, I cannot wait to get out in the garden and have a good tidy up. My front garden needs a make over but I think that will have to wait for more pennies lol:) I love your art work, mosaicing is very messy and time consuming and only for the cold months I think!
Thanks Hywel we are going to see her on 9th March for a long weekend so I will take it over then and if the weathers good we might be able to hang it on her lovely olive tree:)

That's lovely Nana...they just keep getting better! For some reason, when I first saw this one, don't know if it's the shape of it, but it looked 'ecclesiastical' ...don't know why...it's beautiful though whatever. Your sister will love it...could be a few tears...but that's ok! :))
18 Feb, 2012
Hi Karen yes I am sure we will both shed a few tears it might be ten years ago but it is still so very hard for her, thank you for you lovely comment I did want it not to look too in your face more subtle so maybe that has been achieved. Sent my friend links to all your mosaics and she loved them and it has given her ideas for her stones and shells:)

This is very intimal human gesture, Nana and I like it as well as others. On the first moment I was thnking on a free masonic symbols, but then I read your short confession and realised, how often we do subconsiously something which is universal.
Did you ever heard, that old Germans believed, that air around us is full of dead spirits and therefore called it "routes of bees"? As a Christian you would probably know, that bee is also symbol of the spirit/soul.

Thanks Pansy:)

Hi Katarina thank you for your lovely comment so interesting about the "routes of bees" I will tell Carol when I see her in March and I agree about the subconsious strange how the mind works!
