Thank you, everyone - by the time the mist rises far enough to reach the house and there's whiteout, it suddenly gets b****y cold under there.

If that's where you live you must feel like your in heaven when you see views like that.

We do, Bill, and you're right. The locals call this little bit of Italy "Piccolo Paradiso", and it has the purest air in the country, reputedly. And very few tourists - they all rush down Italy and don't stop until they reach Tuscany, which is totally different. It's why we chose to live here instead.

You're like us, Gattina - don't follow the crowd but take the road less travelled.

Quite.

Wow! That is much better than mine. What a picture. It is just beautiful. I like the little path on the side. Would you tell me what mountains I am looking at?

I thought our pictures were very similar, Wells. These are the Italian Appennines in Emilia Romagna, between Bologna and Florence, looking south towards Tuscany. Much nicer in the sunshine. Now that autumn temperatures are here, it's good walking weather again, and that's when we discover quite how unfit we are! It's very healthy for us and our hearts, though, since there's barely a yard on the level. Who needs to pay for gyms?

How beautiful is that! I would put up with a lot of discomfort from the cold if I had this to look at as a reward...
