Mine are just pocking there noses in the air...

They are off to a head start! mine are abit behind as yet!

Love to see hostas when they start growing. They are such beautiful plants. I had many in my garden which did really well for a couple of years, then the slugs discovered them! I eventually gave in and dug them up. I now have some in pots and can't wait for them to grow. They have alpine mix stones on the soil surface and, for the first time this year, maintenance spray/lubricant around the side of the pot which the slugs apparently don't like! I will let you know if it works!!

I've just invested in some copper tape to put round my pots, Aitchw! What do you man by maintenance spray? All I can think of is WD40!

Gee19. That's the one. Just read the suggestions on the tin (if it's a newish one). My youngest son uses it on his old mini to stop moisture problems, so it may not wash off my pots in the rain. I used it round the sides of the pots rather than on the top edge so that it won't get into the soil and compost.

I've got some of that so will try that on my pots too. Thanks for the info :)

Gee19. Hope it works! Maybe after heavy rain you should re-apply it. Iv'e planted some baby lettuces in wooden planters so the lubricant would soak in there. I will have to get some copper tape like you! :-o One of my hostas is also in a lovely blue pot, the same colour as yours!
