This looks GREAT. You don't often see them in a pot. I like the look very much.

Beautiful colour. I really admire your choice of pot, too. Sets off the foliage very well.

I love this. I can imagine you making this into a giant Bonsai !

Diohio just said it!! Bonsai! Trouble with bonsai is starting... you have to wait decades to see the maturity of the art...I don't think I have that long...but you should try it. .get your hubby into bonsai. buy him some of those wonderful elegant bonsai troughs and tubs... and of course you will have your own too! The family that prunes together... (i love puns)

Love Acer....Was just given two the other day by my next house neighbour-and have one of them planted in a large black container with some marguerites of a similar tone......Can't wait 'til it gets to this size!!

That looks really stunning. Congratulations on nurturing such a lovely tree. Mine was looking lovely till he got blown over last year and lost a whole branch (the perils of pots!) and this year he is suffering terribly from wind burn, I hope next year will be kinder to him and in a couple of years he might look like yours. (I can hope)

Oh My..., he really has had it rough, hasn't he ? Hang in there Cazamanda, I'm sure you will have him on the mend and looking great by this time next year. I sometimes wonder why these things have to happen to our prize posessions. I have a 'Tiger's eye' Rhus that I also adore, not to mention, paid way too much money for, that started looking very poorly. I was freaking out trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Did I apply too much mulch, not enough, did I level the soil too high up on the crown of the tree ? So after pulling some of the mulch away hadn't helped, I started to dig a little of the soil away from the base of the tree and thousands of tiny ants started running out of the soil. Of all the dirt I have in my garden, why did they have to build a nest under one of my favorite, most extensive trees ? Why not under one of my cheap, one dollar annuals for heavens sake..lol
