Very beautiful. From the thumbnail I was thinking a little collection of succulents. I was sweetly surprized. Great shot.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. These plants are enjoying the damp edge of the pond.
Bob, the water is clear although some submerged weed.
A few weeks ago we dropped in 50 small mirror carp to keep the weed down - I've not seen one since, lol.

very beautiful. So hard to make a pond edge look natural. I also like the small grasses. Is your pond lined? did you do anything to make the edge a damp area? I would love to know a bit more and perhaps a wider view of this area. Im not so good at water gardening - struggling at the moment so any tips appreciated.

Hello Poppy. Welcome to Goy. No, my pond doesnt have a liner, it is clay lined, so easy for me to set marginal plants on the bank. There are other pics of the pond under my photos - also if you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll see the letters of the alphabet, click on P and then Pond Ideas, there you will see pics and blogs of other members, hope this helps.

Thanks Karen. The fern to the left is Osmunda regalis - should be nice when it gets nice and big.

Yes, nothing really beats a good fern at the water's edge!

Thanks Sheila, I enjoy the pond, went through a gradual stage of being over run with bulrushes and reeds but under control now so virtually maintenance free.
