This is the climbing rose I planted by the front gate last summer. It's doing well and I'm really pleased with it.

Like that good colour and judging by your hand is quite large.

That is really gem! It is very hard to get climbing rose of other colours then white, cream, red and yellow. It must be fragrant too, isnĀ“t it? Orange roses usually have the strongest fragrance.

Katarina, I have a Crown Princess Margareta climber in soft apricot, and a 'Shropshire Lad' in palest peach...both scented. David Austin does quite a few coloured climbers if you want something other than red, white or yellow! :D

Yes, Katarina, it has a scent, and it's a repeat flowering rose too. :-)) I suppose the blooms are quite large!

I 'was' going to say what a lovely colour it is. You know salmon pink is not my favourite, but this is really soft. I like! Wouldn't it look great with something silvery.....hmm.

It isn't salmon - more pinky-coral. I don't like salmon coloured flowers either.
I planted a purple Clematis next to it - 'Elsa Spath', which flowers twice...I'm hoping that eventually they'll 'mingle'. :-))

Yes, absolutely, Coral, that's it. Will be great with the clem.

This was on the list, but Westerland won out in the end, and it has both colour, scent and is good in the rain.....

I'll have to check that one, Dd. :-)

Oh! What a beauty!

Open Sesame! What a soft looking lovely face...
Hello B! hope you're doing well.

Gaining strength slowly, thank you. I'm pretty tired after a trip to the Hampton Court Flower Show! It was wonderful, but we only managed to see about a quarter of it, if that. Never mind - we chose the only sunny day! :-))
7 Jul, 2012
Ah...well a quarter is better than none at all, aye? We've had about 8 days of sunshine and high temps...parts of the eastern part of the U.S. is suffering with really HOT weather. We have had rain overnight on two occasions and the gardens have been helped by that.
I wish I could send you some of our sunshine.
8 Jul, 2012
If only the rain and sun could be sent where they're needed! Mind you, that's quite a frightening thought. Would probably be misused!
8 Jul, 2012
We could certainly do with some here. Flowers aren't opening, the buds just rot on the plants. Boo-hoo!
10 Jul, 2012
things are withering here...from lack of moisture after a further 8 days of blistering summer heat and sticky humidity.
15 Jul, 2012
What a difference - we'd like some sun, you've got too much!
15 Jul, 2012
I think it's moderation that's missing from just about everything these days...including the weather. I hope you have better weather soon, in time for the olympics. I'd gladly share.
21 Jul, 2012
Thanks! We've actually had three sunny days in a row here - 'Shhhh!'....lol. Seriously, a real boost to the morale. :-))) More please!
