Walk around RHS Wisley
9 comments
Yesterday was my first visit to RHS Wisley since the CV 19 lock down in March 2020, they have made a lot of changes, most noticeable is the new Hilltop Centre and relocated Trials garden
Here are some of the pictures from yesterday, the route taken was through Heather landscape to Stone Pine Cafe, viewing the Grass garden
Then Glasshouse, then Hilltop via Rose garden, then trial garden via Mixed borders and Cottage garden
Photos taken along the route and have been processed, cropped etc
One of the heathers, there is a large collection at Wisley and this is but one
The sun shining through the grass heads caught my eye for this
The colour of this one shone out in the sunshine, my common name is Straw flower
Then reverse route to the glass house, passing this in there
Through the glass house and out into the South African meadow where these were taken, general view
Some early Autumn colour starting in the distance
After the meadow made our way to Hilltop and just had to capture this combination
Hilltop is a real showstopper, and considering it’s only been opened this year the planting and layout is really worth seeing
These Naked Ladies for instance, which are planted throughout Wisley but seem to be a mass planting in the area around Hilltop
One of two sculptures in the Hilltop area
Behind Hilltop is World food garden and fruit collection
This is part of World food garden
As is this Artichoke
After Hilltop made our way over to Bonsai Walk, where this beauty was seen, forty years old according the the label
Through the Cottage garden, taking this there
then out & up among the roses in the Bowes Lyon Rose garden spotted this dahlia, Firepot
And finally on way out these seed heads near Walled garden silhouetted against the sky

Thank you for the tour of Wisley. I have let my RHS membership lapse so have not been for about 4 years. What a lot of changes. Lovely photos. That bonsai tree is stunning.

An interesting place, enjoyed the pics. I also edit my photos, they'd be no good otherwise.

Thanks for the wonderful tour of Wisley gardens! 👌 I really enjoyed it! 👍 Reminded me of the blogs I wrote some years ago of the Cambridge Botanical gardens!
