Like Hywel, I thought I would put some of my pics. onto a blog, for my memory, it is also much easier to view them too! From the kitchen window everything looks very green but when you go out with the camera you find some hidden little gems!
My new scabious, thought it was blue!
Penstemon, garnet, thought the winter had killed this off!
A peony I didnt know I had!! Is it ‘bowl of beauty?’ If so I planted it years ago and gave up on it.
A gift from Lulu, bronze fennel. (Sheilabub kindly sent the green ones!)
Potentilla, I really love this colour.
Heuchera & love in the mist.
Corn cockle, a gift from Cristina.
Alium siculum, going to seed now.
This has to be my favourite, Potentilla fireball.

What beautiful flowers Grandmage - !!! I always like the bees on flowers pics , and we also have fennel - I just grow it for looks - never pick any. the last 2 are so lovely !!!!!

I like the peony too.....fancy it flowering this year maybe it likes wet and windy weather.....

Lovely pics. I have 'Bowl of Beauty' but it didn't fair so well this year; only about six blooms as opposed about ten last year. My favourite I think is the Potentilla Fireball.

Wow...so many flowers Grandmage! My garden too looks very green from the kitchen window but unlike yours very green close up too!!!!
Lovely pictures. I so love the colour of that Scabious. I seem to be drawn to this colour this year. That potentilla is just sublime - must look out for it. Please tell me it is the perennial one and not the shrub type - I'm not fond of the shrub ones!

Are you sure that scabious isn't a Knautia!?
Hello to the fennel!
And isn't 'bowl of beauty' a gem.

Lovely flowers and lovely photos :)

Very nice Grandmage. Your Scabious is an unusual colour. In my garden it's like yours - everything looking green, but the colour is there if you look for it.
I love the corn cockle - very simple but lovely.
Your border is pretty too :o)

Same thoughts as Lu, Knautia macedonica - Crimson Scabious . But I love it regardless, the colour is super.

Lots of colour G`mage, mine looks mainly green at first glance as well, like you say the colour is there, I think the rain has caused everything to do so much better as regards growth we just need more sun to encourage them to flower, they are emerging a bit on the slow side, I keep telling myself they`ll last longer...lol.
Love the first pic and I can see why you favour the fireball, I cannot get them to survive here but really like them....

Hello all, have been watching TV (load of rubbish too!) and come into the computer and this is what I found! Thank you all so kindly, I truly have been thinking there are no flowers outside, But as you can see there are!
TT=thank you, it has never flowered ever, this is its 1st time!
Magna=thank you too, I love Penstemon.
Cinders= that Lily was a bulb for my birthday last year!
Paul= you are like me, I only grow fennel for its lovely fluffy look! :~)
Pam= its strange isnt it, after all this wet wild weather and there is this peony....in flower!
Dig= I am hoping that after this year that peony will get better, do you feed yours?
Scottish=yes that Potentilla is the perennial one, got it at the GC.
Lou= I also have Knautia, it is a darker pink compared to the Scabious! Honestly. :~) If you compare on google images they are soooo alike!
Thanks Geraniumd. how kind of you.
Hywel= its funny but I thought all Scabious were blue, truly, so was suprised when this flowered, isnt it lovely?
Pim= yes it is Scabious, at least thats what is says on the tin!! Lol
Lincs= I seem to have lost lots of plants, Coreopsis, Gaura etc. but maybe they may even poke through yet. we do need some sun and wamth dont we?
Thanks all for your very kind comments.

Lovely to see all the different plants emerging, as you say a tad slower this year! Lovely to see Lysmachia, Astrantia and the PotentiLla's always think of them as the knitters bringing eveything else together!!
23 Jun, 2012
Thats a nice thought Pp. I dont plan my border just chuck it all in!!! Lol I love a mixed look, I like the thought of them 'knitting' away, knit one, pearl one......

Me too not a lot of attention to pattern but keep packing them in and Wow you get something quite Unique;0)
