After my last gloomy subject matter blog here is something nicer to look at.
I took these pics during a 1/2 hr break in the rain a couple of days ago.
Hope you like them & thanks for looking.

Thanks, Siris, it's definitely green. The begonia's on the shady side have done well but the pelargoniums on the sunny side have had too much rain so are not so good.
The late season flowers are yet to come.

Your garden looks interesting. It seems to be enjoying the rain.
Love the pig :)

Hywel, that's Bertha pig & further along is Sheila sheep, did you spot the Winstanley cat by the font? I do like my little quirky bits.

I didn't see the cat but I can now. He's lovely. I've got two of those but they are in the house. They're small.

I wondered if the cat was real. I thought the sheep was harder to pick out. It is a lovely garden, Green finger.

We do our best to keep it up & grow our own veggies too.
Tom always said he'd like chickens but I think he has enough to do so I bought him a metal hen & chicks instead.
Thank you all for your kind comments.

It looks lovely green fingers,I like the pig also,I did think I was seeing things at first, well done for all your hard work.

You have very pretty garden Mari I loved Bertha the pig as well ,I've always had a soft spot for pigs and love to see baby piglets running round squealing ..

The garden looks lovely, and colourful. The cat looks very real but decided it must be a model as it was sitting so still in the two photo's! I have quirky bits too and would like more, but OH is not keen on some and as I am sneaking various grasses, which he hates, into the garden at the moment a few more 'quirky bits' might make him take more notice of them and the extra plants that just fall into my car when I am out.

Honeysuckle are you that mad person I see in the garden center who has trained plants to fly out to the car park and into a waiting quick get-away car Lol ...

That's a splendid pig. I thought it was a real one for a minute! It looks happy in your pretty garden.

Both Sheila & Bertha move around so you never know where they might be (I know it's Tom having a game with me tho) He'll say Bertha's in your flower bed, I'll get him back by saying Sheila's in your potatoes.

Lol. Love that Sheila and Bertha are moved around. Your garden is looking lovely and I suppose the up side of all this rain is that at least it has kept all our lawns green. Like you, I like garden ornaments and like your OH, mine wasn't that keen on them but I've slowly brought him around to my way of thinking :-).

Gf - Your garden has that lovely mature look about it ... not very well explained by me ... you know what I mean! Love the animals ... :o)

Thank you, Shirley, it's all relatively fairly new. There were only very old shrubs here when we moved here 11 yrs ago which became diseased so 2 yrs ago we dug them all out & I enlarged the borders & planted all the plants you can see now. I'm always adding more when I see a space.

So colourful and I love the Winstanley cat. Didn't know they could "survive" outside though.
Your garden is tidy as well as lovely.

Eirlys, the Winstanley got broken in the house move so put it there instead of throwing it out, it's been in the garden for years & isn't affected by weather..
The picture is deceptive - there's a ton of weeds that hide in there.
5 Aug, 2017
Well Gf, that's a real credit to you! Garden looks great ... :o)
5 Aug, 2017
Well all I can say is you have "selective weeds"! I can't see any.

Oops sorry G'finger I'd missed this one, you have a lovely garden, I had to go back to find the cat but had spotted your pig and the sheep, lol, I too like having things in the garden, can't afford a posh statue so make do with what I like and can afford obviously..
12 Aug, 2017
Lol Lincs, a posh statue wouldn't look right for my little cottage but sheep, pig, cat & hen suit well.

Doing catch-up....you have a lovely country garden, and quirky features are my thing, although not my OHs.....each to their own!

Good to have you visit any time, DD.
