Taunton Flower Show

We had a lovely day at the show, the sun shone all day for us. Mum was looking forward to it as it was her first one of the year, she’s 80 and can’t manage the big ones any more. As usual it did not disappoint, there was plenty of interest in the Flower Marquee, first stop was the roses, where she ordered a lovely Climber, then it was my turn, I bought 2 new Heucheras for my collection, Citronella and Miracle, then it was a hunt for new plants for the revamped front garden, I’m going with the Hot colours out here for the wow factor, a couple of heleniums, red and yellow, a potentilla ‘Mango Tango’ and Gaillardia ’ St Clements’ were a few to go with the plants already there.
The show gardens are only small, but very pretty, the Bee Cause garden I think was my favourite, especially the little gate they had made.
In the competition marquee the flower arranging exhibits were outstanding
this one particularly catching our attention, being only 10cmx10cmx10cm
and this very inventive dress and hat
After enjoying watching the Birds of Prey display, dog agility and the brass band, we ended the day with ice cream, and, tired but happy, we started our journey home
