*Not to long ago i bought a new passion Flower Purple Rain… its planted on the patio ..it started to grow quickly and spread along the wall , i did not expect it to flower till next year… but it has got some buds on it and yesterday one opened… i certainly did not expect this to flower in October….. its larger than the normal passion flower and the outer petals are pale purple…..
The flowers didnt seem to mind this mornings frost….

that is fantastic, what a beautiful blue ~ its almost more like an ornament than a plant ~ its so perfect.
i would even brave the cold and frost to go into the garden to look at something as amazing as that!

Hopefully it could be the climber I am looking for on my south facing trellis in my north facing garden which also gets cold winds. Thanks for the lovely photos and for the advice from various people re. the best plant for me.

What lovely photos of a really lovely Passion flower! :-))
There's no doubt they are hardy as at the vets practice where we used to take our dogs the whole house is covered in an enormous Passion flower! It looks great when in flower & it also looks very good when only the orange fruits are left on the walls!
I've no idea how old it might be but it's probably been there a lot longer than 20 years!

Absolutely stunning, I have one in flower too, they must be hardy after the recent frosts.
