My poor Daphne…

The Daphne that was given to me by Brian many years ago began to develop a greyness on the leaves and then turn brown and it looked as if it was gradually dying. Last month it had a few flowers hanging over the wall but more and more branches in the centre of the bush that looked dead. One day I decided to chop off all the dead branches and if it was really bad near the root, to dig the whole bush out. I convinced myself it must have some kind of disease..
Mostly dead leaves and a few flowers.
After cutting all the branches down to the ground I noticed new, very small, new growths so I stopped short of digging the shrub out.
I fed and watered it and will wait to see if it continues to grow afresh. I will take off any branches that don’t produce shoots. Up to today it’s trying to come back….
I am keeping my fingers crossed. ;>)

I hope it survives Homebird. My Daphne in a big pot has yellow leaves and even though I give it an iron feed, they stay yellow. It was originally in the garden but nearly lost it.
