My April garden

I am afraid my garden isn’t getting the right amount of attention this spring. Everything seems to be surviving on minimum attention from me though. T has finally had his hip replacement so can’t help at all. He is doing really well. I intended to mow the lawns today but just didn’t find the time so hopefully I can get them done tomorrow. I was busy cutting out all the old woody stalks and bagging up tons of leaves from the borders. I also made a makeshift raised bed for the runner beans. It’s so long since I did any digging I am feeling a bit stiff tonight although I am feeling really pleased with what I have managed to get done. I took a few photos as I pottered. I won’t chat about them just pop them on.
Yesterday I put together this mini greenhouse for the conservatory and sowed my runner beans and peas to put in it to give them an early start. Hopefully by the time they are ready to plant out we should be frost free. The cucumbers I started last week on the kitchen windowsill have shot up 2 inches and I’ve put them in there too. The tomato seed I sowed at the same time haven’t germinated yet.
So…looking forward to a good summer with T walking well and me able to get cracking in the garden.

Thank you Julia. So pleased to hear your OH is doing well post op. They say a hip replacement has a quicker and easier recovery time. He had his operation last Friday and he says the pain is easier every day. I can see his mobility improving daily. I didn’t realise how tired I would get though!

I agree Sheila Knee surgery is in its infancy compared to hip replacement. Your husband sounds as if he is doing very well .Same as you,I didn't realise how tired I would feel but as we say it's all in a good cause!Painting is certainly not on the agenda yet!

Your garden is looking lovely with all the spring flowers Homebird.
It must be hard work mowing the lawn as it seems to be on a hill. I love all the blue flowers but not sure what they are.
Just do a bit at a time, not like myself who gives this advice and doesn't heed it herself! lol
I hope your husband soon recovers.

The Aubrieta is fabulous Sheila, as is the Pieris. I think you achieved a lot in the sunny weather, well done!
I managed to get some summer bulbs planted today, Gladiolus and Anemones, so that's another task done.
