Front Garden in June ...

It’s starting to look like a real garden now, because I keep planting more and more things there lol … soon you won’t be able to see any bare soil :o)
I’ve put a small fence along one side, as you can see from the photos, to shelter my little Pyracanthas from the wind that whistles up the alley between my house and the next one down.
Most of the things I’ve planted there have been taken from the back garden, as cuttings and roots -
Hostas, Pulmonarias, Astrantias, Fuchsias, Primroses, Dicentra … and a Box and a Euonymus shrubs …
i.e. things that don’t mind a bit of shade, because it faces east, and only gets the sun until lunch time.
I’m waiting for them to grow and fill out now, but still it doesn’t look too bad :o)
I’ve also bought some Begonia semperflorens and planted them rather regimentally along each side of the slabs and along the front wall … lol very uncharacteristic for me !
You can see one of the slabs is cracked. I dropped it lol :D
These Sundisc Narcissi are lasting well. They are still in full bloom :o)
I’ve got some things in tubs too :o)
Here’s Bella enjoying the morning sunshine …
A view down the road …
I’ve missed a lot on here lately, I don’t know if I can catch up, so sorry if any one feels I’m ignoring them … I’m not – it’s just that I can’t keep up with it sometimes.
Thanks for taking a peep at my front garden :o)
The windowsill still needs painting lol :D

It's looking good Hywel, it'll soon fill out nicely so you can't see any soil.
You have a beautiful view down your street!
Don't worry about not being able to catch up, it's impossible to read everything and look at everyone's photos, there's too much. I'm on here almost every day but still struggle to keep up with what my favourites are doing sometimes!

Looks lovely Hywell and like Louisa said, a great view of the hills... :)

It's looking great Hywel. I'm guessing Bella is already following you round ~ there's dedication! Don't worry about catching up, it's just good to see you back now.

Thank you all for your comments :o)
Yes there is a lovely view from here. Pity I'm in too much of a rush to notice it every day lol.
Bella has settled in very well. It's as if she has always been here :o)
We have no wheeled bins, and anyway, there's a side entrance, so they could be taken around the back if we did have them :o)
Thank you all - I won't worry about catching up then :o) ... well I'll try not to worry. I'm not very good at 'not worrying'.

I can't keep up either Hywel! I just pop in and out a couple of times a day (usually at coffee time. :0)
Your front is coming along beautifully, as you say won't be long before there is no soil to see.
Isn't Bella good, sitting out there with you x

It'll soon fill out Hywell...all your hard work paying off!! Best keep an eye on Bella when(if) you paint the window sill.....otherwise you may have nice footprint trail!!

Hi Hywel, your garden is looking good, especially as it's the first year since your alterations, Derek.

That is all looking great, Hywel. The sempiflorens will fill out to make a really nice little hedge! I think they are such useful plants that always give good value. I also am trying to catch up a bit - it's like trying to step back on to a merry-go-round! Bella's looking very sleek - she certainly lives up to her name!

It didn't take long to fill it up Hywel and it really looks good, in a couple of years you'll be thinning it out, I take it thats more of your good muck again, lol, its certainly the bees knees.
Its nice to see Bella keeping you company, has she found the flat roof for her sunbathing yet, Caspar will follow me around the garden but Tipsy sits above looking all superior and smug.

Looking great Hywel. It's good to see that Bella has the confidence to go round the front too. It hasn't taken her long to settle in has it?
The cracked slab adds character :)

Great little update on your front garden Hywel, its creatvely done with the slabs.
I love the new little fence for practical and pretty reasons- it is a great idea and matches the trellis.
Bella looks like she has sussed out the warmest spots as the sun shifts over the day...clever puss! Make sure you get a relaxing seat in the sun too!

All coming along nicely Hywel and lovely to see Bella making herself at home in the sunshine :o)

That is looking lovely Hywel. For various reasons I too am not going to be able to catch up but its nice of you to apologise. I just imagined everybody has busy times and I do try to say when I'm busy I just tick 'Like ---'. I did not realise Bella was such a big cat. I'm glad you are getting on together because however much we like to think we choose the cat, I'm certain it is they who choose who they like.

Hywel I will never 'catch up' on here as I am away for part of each week, and I have stopped worrying about it now. I love your front garden it is so pretty and looks like it has always been like that. Job well done there.

It's looking good Hywel, and I'm sure it'll be easy to maintain?

Your front garden is lovely Hywel. I wish mine was that attractive. In fact the front garden is the problem area for me. I will soon be writing here asking for advice on it.

Your garden looks just right for its position. I've been looking forward to seeing how its progressing. Its rewarding when you can source a new bed by propagating from your others isn't it? Those begonias look at home by the side of the path - good old begonias, what would we do without them - they appear every summer in my difficult patch near the house. And its such a pleasure to see how Bella has settled - she is so pretty - I think Blodyn would be happy that you have another lovely companion.

Looks as if things are progressing very nicely, its good when you have rich pickings from the back garden - it all helps out cost wise.
Bella looks contented with it all and it looks as if she is getting use to posing.lol.

That has taken me quite by surprise, Hywel. not having seen you front garden before, I had always imagined you living in splendid isolation on a remote country lane with only one or two neighbours at a distance of a hundred yards or so! Anyway, I think your front garden is going to be great as it all fills out; Bella's obviously given it the seal of approval already and I agree that the cracked slab adds character. Last year, after I was ill, I got into such a state about trying to keep up on here that I had to take time out as, rather than being a source of pleasure and relaxation, it was becoming yet another thing on the list of 'things to do'. For that reason, I've stopped adding favourite people - except as a returned courtesy - because it could go on forever...and I try not to worry about it so much but just go with the flow... for now at least.

Small and beautiful. Thanks god you do not have three big smelly wheel bins in your front garden, like we all have here in my borough.
