Earre Barre

I don’t know what it means, but it’s the name of one of my Fuchsias.
I had it several years ago, but it died,
and then for a long time I was not able to locate another nursery that sold it.
However, this year, I noticed it in a nursery near here :o)
and went to order one …
But the man in charge of the nursery told me he did not supply it any more, because he had not had any orders for it in many years …. and so he decided to discontinue it.
My disappointment must have shown on my face :(
and anyway I told him so … and I asked if he knew of anywhere else I could get it.
He said he didn’t know where else it was sold, but what he did say was … he was going to throw his stock plant away, but since I was so desperate to have it, he’d sell it to me :o))))
So now I’ve got it again, after a long time … and maybe I’m the only one who has it :)
So here are some photos of it -
It isn’t very showy, just a small single flower,
but very pretty indeed :o))
Here’s the flower after it opens :-
Then it opens a bit more :-
Then a bit more, until the petals are horizontal :-
The whole plant :-
It’s not very big yet, but it has several flowers, and I love it ! :D

This is such a pretty coloured little fushia! I would describe it as if it's a little ballerina...;o)

Glad you finally got a replacement. What baffles me is that if he was going to throw away his stock plant, why did he sell it to you and not just give you it?
I commented on one of the pictures, I think it's lovely and I'm sure you'll take very good care of it.

What a beauty Hywel.... hope it does well for you, so glad you were able to find it. I agree with Scottish, why couldn't he just give it to you... bit mean of him!

Thank you all for your comments about my Fuchsia :o)
I can't understand why nobody ever ordered it either ...
And I also thought he could have given it to me, Scottish and Gralew, but after all, he is a business person, and probably doesn't miss a chance to make a few pennies ! lol :D
So unlike me ... :(
Marybells what a pity you didn't buy those Fuchsias ...

Its gorgeous Hywel makes me want to make a dress like it and that spash of red going into the white.
So happy for you that you found one. Now you must take some cuttings from it so you will never lose it again. :o)))))

I feel puzzled that no one ordered it. He should have had you take the photos for his catalogue. It was just a plant to him. You have shown Earre Barre as a work of art. Is the naming of it connected to ballet I wonder. There are lots of buds too. Thank you for recognising the quality and saving it for future generations.

Thank you ...
I don't know what the name means. I've never been able to find out.

It's lovely, very pretty. Can't understand why the seller has had no orders for it. Isn't it a nice feeling when you finally find something that you've been looking for, for a number of years.
