A cat's thoughts ...

I wonder what the weather’s like out there today …
.
I wonder if there are any mice in the hedgerows …
.
I wonder what I’d be able to see from the top of a post, or the garage roof …
.
I wonder if Dad will open a new sachet of food for me, even though I haven’t eaten all the previous one …
.
I wonder if he will get that piece of string for me to play with on the landing later on …
.
I wonder if he’ll come down the garden with me to play, if I MEOW LOUDLY at him many times.
.
I wonder if he’ll fall over if I run in front of his feet when he’s carrying a saucepan full of boiling potatoes from the stove to the table …
.
I wonder if that howling dog on the main road will shut up today …
.
I wonder if that ginger cat will be out today, so that I can chase him down the road …
.
I wonder if the lady in the bungalow will talk to me today, so that I can turn my back and walk away from her with my nose in the air …
.
I wonder if there will be some dirty water in that container down the garden, so that I can drink it instead of the nice fresh water Dad puts in my dish …
.
I wonder if I could climb into the cold frame and lie on top of the cuttings Dad has put there for the winter …
.
There’s so much for a cat to think about … maybe I’ll just fall asleep instead …
=^..^=

A person's thoughts to Bella: Love the secret ginger patch on your tum - you've never shown us that before! I hope you did get your game with the string. And I do really really hope you didn't test out your wondering about tripping poor Hywel up - remember if you are tempted that some of the boiling water might fall on you...
This is a great blog Hywel - made me laugh, especially the cold frame. Beautiful photos. The third from the end one deserves framing.

(As I type this, Sage, our rescue cat, is looking over my shoulder at the photos. Didn't hear her come upstairs but she follows me like a shadow.)
Bella is so pretty and obviously very bright to type all that. All her observations are honest!!
Does she understand Welsh?

That's superb! Just the right wording for the pictures, you must be able to read her mind.
Might need a cat here soon, even if the peacoks hate them, the mice seem to be moving into the loft and we even had one in the living room yesterday! Bad enough in the loft where you hear the traps spring in the middle of the night, but the thought of them in our living space is Yuk!
Caught the one from the living room, but I'm paranoid now. Perhaps Bella might have some suggestions?

Thanks for reading Bella's blog :)
Lisam I'm glad to know you have cats. Bella doesn't pose much, she is never still. I have to take a chance and hope the photo comes out lol
Steragram The ginger patch is more on Bella's side and it isn't really as ginger as that. I think the colour is a trick of the light. She has a white tummy.
She often runs in front of my feet and I have to watch where she is before I move. The day I had that hot saucepan I nearly fell.
Eirlys Sage sounds lovely. Cats do have a habit of following us don't they.
Bella only understands Welsh. Beryl talks to her in English but she doesn't understand a word of it :)
Honeysuckle I'm sorry you have mice in the house. That's not nice. However Bella would be no good to you. She catches mice in the hedgerows, brings them in the house, and then lets them go. She never kills them. I have bought a trap to catch them alive, so that I can take them back to the hedgerow, but they are too daft to go into it ! so I just leave the doors open and they usually go out of their own accord.

Fantastic Hywel, very enjoyable; very much reminds me of when I actually had cats (not allowed them here where I live now). I can add a couple though: from my black cat, 'I wonder will she feed me early if I walk across the keyboard while she's typing' and from the ginger cat, 'just let me see if I can insert myself onto her lap by jumping in front of that book she's sat down to read'..... Every single time....

This is a lovely blog about Bella ... such a pretty cat.
I wonder, does she purr as loud as she can about an hour before you would like to wake up in the morning? Megan does that every day, without fail, very annoying!

Lovely blog Hywel. As a cat lover and mum to two young girl kitties I so enjoyed your blog! Bella is so photogenic. My cats never sit still long enough to take a decent photograph, instead they drag a large array of wildlife into the house as presents for me! My cats love it when I’m pottering in the garden and help me dig holes.Their latest game is running after fallen leaves blowing in the wind!

Thanks for all your comments :)
I can imagine your cats thinking those things Bamboo. Bella once sat on my laptop and put it into flight mode. I didn't know how to get it back to normal and had to take it in to the computer shop in the town !
That must be annoying Shirley. Bella meows loudly at 3 or 4 a.m. for me to let her out. Then she meows loudly again after coming back in, for me to give her some biscuits :)
Amsterdam it's nice that your cats enjoy your company in the garden, Bella also enjoys me being in the garden. Sometimes she won't stop fussing and meowing until I go down there with her.

She is a lovely cat - but I bet you need to brush or comb her fur...
14 Nov, 2017
Oh Hywel, this has made me smile! Nice to see Bella enjoying the outside world. I hope you weren't injured after the fall/boiling water incident.
15 Nov, 2017
LOL LOL LOL! Love it! :D

Thanks for all your comments and likes :)
Yes Bamboo I try to brush her everyday because her fur tends to become knotted up sometimes, but the number of brush stokes she accepts depends on what mood she's in :D
Dawn No animal or human was injured in the making of this blog :D

Can I add cats have the ability to get into places they shouldn't! We are at present having our bathroom completely redone. The floorboards were up for a short time only. I got home at 6.30pm last night to meowing but no sign of 1 of my cats. Yes, you've guessed it, the cat was under the floorboards with no way out! We couldn't lift the floorboard ourselves and the workman returned at 8pm . It then took a further hour before the cat found its own way out!

Cats as tripping hazards! Bella you lovely girl, be more careful! cousin Rufus says merowr!
Brilliant Hywel!

So you're skilled in kitty telepathy. Amazing that you can read her mind. Great photos. I wish I knew what Costello was saying.

Dogs hearing is 200 times stronger than humans.
I think Bella is listening to something in the hedge.
How much stronger is cats hearing ?

Thank you all for your comments :)
Dear me Lisam that must have been stressful for you :( I'm glad the cat came out safely.
I once had a cat called Blodyn, who featured many times on here before you joined, and she once ran up the steps to the attic and went right into the eves. It took ages to get her out.
I don't know how much stronger cats hearing is Diane but Blodyn used to hear me shake a can of squirty cream from right down the garden and she'd come running up to the house for a share :)

As a cat lover and owned by Toffee and all the others we've been owned by in the past I so can associate with this blog, Hywel I love it, the way you've matched the photo's with what Bella is thinking is spot on, made me laugh so much, she really is lovely, I even know how she would act with the lady up the road who dares to speak to her ,our Tipsy was like that, been there with the laptop, luckily although it took hours and lots of grumbling from him indoors, ( it was all my fault for allowing said cat on the keyboard in the first place ) he was able to sort it out for me.
Cats are great company and I would not want to be without one, Toffee is the only one we have now, cannot get another as don't think it would be fair with having Harriet, she is a terrier and acts like one, loves Toffee and they are great together but he was here first so it was a case of him putting up with the pup, saying that she does chase him off sometimes, he however jumps up out of the way and then looks down with a very big smirk on his face, bet you know that look as well, lol, a kitten wouldn't stand a chance, obviously that means Toffee is spoilt rotten by us, he even sleeps in our bedroom, which means every night I become a cushion to be padded, my Kindle gets headbutted and if my feet are in the wrong position they get grabbed through the duvet until he gets his place, lol...I well remember Blodyn, she was a character also......Lovely blog and photo's Hywel, definitely one for my favs.....
15 Nov, 2017
What a lovely blog, Hywel. I wonder who her favourite friend might be?
16 Nov, 2017
When Costello needs anything, he just gives me a bloody arm. Then I'll have to figure it out...
16 Nov, 2017
Sue the bungalow lady tells me Bella is snooty :) she says things like 'She ignored me today again !' with a laugh :)
I don't know how you can 'allow' a cat to do anything. They'll do whatever they want whether you 'allow' them or not :)
Bella won't sleep in the bedroom. It isn't good enough for her. She likes the conservatory and the landing :)
Linda I don't know who Bella's friend is, I don't actually think she's got any. She is very snooty :)
Bathgate, a bloody arm ? Better give Costello what he wants :)

Lovely blog Hywel. Trust a cat to find a nice warm spot in a cold frame with the sun shining on it. Love the photo of her on the garage roof, think I will save it to my cat pics album, if that's ok
My cat is so lazy, she spends a lot of time looking through the cat flap, but that's about all!
17 Nov, 2017
Had to laugh, Lisam. Sorry! I recall the first time Sian, our Siamese, climbed on to the roof. I panicked. My husband got the extending ladder out and climbed up gingerly, watched by the cat for a while. Then Sian disappeared, only to re-appear at the foot of the ladder while OH was still looking for her.
After that we just let the cat get on with it!!
New neighbours have FOUR cats! Two are Maine Coon. Hope they live up to their reputation of being "gentle giants"!
17 Nov, 2017
Oh, Maine Coon are lovely animals, the two I knew reminded me of Siamese cats in their behaviour- very 'chatty' and curious. I remember their owner was nervous about letting them out on their own, she always worried they'd be stolen. My personal preference is for ordinary moggies though, I mean, just look at Bella!
17 Nov, 2017
Thanks for all your comments =^..^=

Sage is an ordinary Moggie, a rescue cat. She was twelve when we adopted her and she is now 13 years and 9 months. She rules the roost!
17 Nov, 2017
They do :)
17 Nov, 2017
I loved this, Hywel. I don't have cats any longer but you have their thoughts to a T. Please be careful when you're carrying your saucepan of potatoes - you know how contrary cats can be, just for the hell of it. Bella is a beautiful cat but I hope she's happy to be brushed!
19 Nov, 2017
Thank you. I try to brush her every day but she isn't always in the mood :)
19 Nov, 2017
Ah, to be a cat, and live a life full of wonder! :)
Mine was sticking close to me today, since the mow, blow, and go guys were out in full force, and his arch enemy the leaf blower was on the prowl!
26 Nov, 2017
Nice to know you've got a cat :)
26 Nov, 2017
What a delightful blog, having shared our home with moggies and also pedigree cats, for many many years this blog made perfect sense to me, still miss them and their antics! give Bella a stroke from me Hywel!
26 Nov, 2017
Bella said thanks for the stroke ... she gets many !

You have cats spot on! It made me laugh as my cats do exactly the same. Bella is lovely and one thing she does better than my cats is pose for the camera!
