Here are some photos of my garden this July …..
I have a rose called Mischief which has grown about 6 feet tall, next to a trellis, and it’s had very big flowers this year :-
My Dorothy Perkins has had lots of flowers this year too :-
I have this nice red rose, I think it’s a patio rose but I don’t know its name :-
And this one too, I don’t know its name but it’s climbing nicely on my new trellises :-
It’s got Clematis Betty Corning growing with it :-
Another Clematis which is flowering high up … Gypsy Queen :-
More Clematises …
John Paul ll :-
Venosa Violacea :-
Minuet :-
I had two nice bargain recently in Tesco, they were reduced …
Shastia Daisy :-
And this nice Scabious :-
Well not to bore you I’ll end there, but I took more photos so I’ll put them in another blog soon :)

Thank you Marjorie, I hope your Clematises will recover. I've had to prune some of mine also, they have grown very tall this year.
Our rain didn't do much good. Under the shrubs is still bone dry.

Your garden is flourishing wonderfully Hywel what great varieties still going in your garden in this heat and dryness. Love your roses and clematis and the daisy made me smile reminds me of making daisy chains.

They are all doing well Hywel despite the heat, I added four new clematis last year but they are really struggling, not surprised as we haven't had any rain for such a long time, thought that was going to change last night but never even had enough to wet the patio, even hotter again today, I'm getting my exercise walking down the garden with my bowl every time I use some water, lol...Your garden and photographs never bore us...

I love that white clematis. I'll have to look out for that one.

Took the words out of my mouth Pb - I loved the white clematis too. What nicer combination could you have on a trellis than roses and clematis? Your garden is a treat Hywel.

Thank you all :)
The garden isn't doing very well. I only showed the bits that are not shrivelling up !

Nice to see those raindrops!
I love the clematis John Paul II, it is such a delicate one. I shall look out for it.
All our gardens are struggling, as am I with my watering can each evening!!!

Great to see so much flower in your garden, Hywel! Like many others above I really like your white Clematis!
We are suffering a lot from the heat here & my poor wife just hates it! You would think that being Spanish it wouldn't bother her but it's just the opposite. She finds it really hard to eliminate the heat from her body so she used to like the cooler summers here but not this year!
On the other hand the heat doesn't bother me so much as I can get rid of it but even so this weather is proving a bit much even for me!
I have to use a great deal of water on the balcony - more than I've done for years even so some of my plants have shriveled up. At least 2 of the 3 plants my son bought me for my birthday haven't been able to resist the combination of heat & fierce sunlight for about 10 hours a day. 😭😩

Love all your Clematis, Hywel, Roses lovely too. I think I am gradually acclimatising to the hot temps now & when it goes cooler I'll probably start shivering!

Well then you'd better get out a heavy coat for Sunday then - we are forecast a maximum of 19C! ☃😂

Had a little shower this afternoon.....but expecting a lot more over the weekend, your roses are a credit to you, as well as the clematis, a wonderful show Hywel

Thank you all.
I don't cope well with extreme heat and cold. I feel fine when it rains lol :)

Lovely rain here today Hywel & boy did we need it. Just the right type too, not heavy, just gentle & continuous. I think it was all last night too. Soon we'll have green grass again!
29 Jul, 2018
Feverfew steady rain here started the early hours and still going this evening.....doing the world of good!
29 Jul, 2018
Rain here too - drizzle now this evening but the temperature is better.

You people were luckier than us here as we only had a little rain yesterday & a little this morning. Not enough to do any good. :( On Saturday we had been forecast 3 hours of heavy rain for Sunday but only half an hour or so of very light rain was all we got! :(

Your roses are looking really healthy and beautiful colours too.
We have had a few spots of rain tonight but it is all we have had. I was quite excited but it didn't last long 😿
You also have some lovely clematises . I have had to prune some of mine . I hope that they will recover.
