After my daughter counted the pots and containers in our garden last summer ( the wash out summer ) it got me thinking about GOY members and how many containers they have in their gardens.
last year i had 60, i know i bought some more in the sales this spring so need to go count them again.
top of the list so far is Hollyeves with 64.
if and i know its a big if, but if you get some spare time, count the pots, containers, planters you have in the garden . i bet you will be suprised by the amount you have.

23 Jun, 2009

23 Jun, 2009
Thankyou...lol :) :) :)
23 Jun, 2009
Wow Crazydi sounds like the winner! I only have 30 hanging baskets/pots and 90 pots/containers (including the tomato and herb pots).
23 Jun, 2009
Only 46 for me! Most of them bursting with red pelargoniums. Then there's my "nursery" in the plastic greenhouses - also bursting with red pelargonium cuttings. Well I have to - it's Spain and a casa is not a casa unless it's thoroughly decorated with red pelargoniums, and they brighten up the darkest day.

Great Blog Eileen :) Iv Huge Plain Black Flower Pots with Fuchsias in do they Count ? or its it just Pretty Pots? :D
24 Jun, 2009
Well I've just had a mental trip around the garden and there are no doubt some I've forgotten but I make it 32 permanent ones plus about 20 homeless souls who haven't found a place to put down roots yet, I'm working on that. So I guess that makes me quite sane and not at all potty compared to the champions!
24 Jun, 2009
hehe this is fab I thought I was a potaholic but it seems im no where near. I have 28 large terracotts, 5 metal and 3 ceramic
i havent bothered counting the little plastic pots I just havent the time

i only have 63 pots and 3 hanging baskets
24 Jun, 2009
My garden has 3 plants in pots, 7 trees in pots, 4 herbs in pots, and am I allowed to include the 3 belfast sinks?
24 Jun, 2009
aye Silverbelle, you can add in the belfast sinks too
24 Jun, 2009
Great, that makes my total 17! I'll be adding another 1 or 2 very soon when I pot up the Geraniums I got today. :-)
24 Jun, 2009
moreeeeeeeeee plants Silverbelle lol
24 Jun, 2009
Always room for one more, and one more, and one more...........
24 Jun, 2009
lol
24 Jun, 2009
I did a head count this morning (proper like, with a paper and pen....jotted them all down just for you...) Anyway, the grand total stands at 418 containers, pots, buckets, baskets, belfast sinks and multi-various odds 'n ends;) But then there's one or two more (maybe 50...???) tucked away behind the greenhouse, where I stash my collection of spring bulbs....
SO... AM I THE POTTIEST....? Lol
24 Jun, 2009
lol omg Di i would imagine you are the winner .
how on earth do you manage to water all these lol
24 Jun, 2009
Don't forget the ones Bill and Ben live in Di. They must be there along with all those fairies!
24 Jun, 2009
Lol....who knows who lurks out there! Not sure if Bill and Ben have taken up residence...but there's certainly Little Weed!
As for the watering....well at this time of year it's at least 2 hours a day, with the hosepipe. When I was younger (and fitter!) I did it all by hand with the watering can...
"Feeding" takes even longer...once a week (usually Fridays), all the flowering stuff gets a dose of tomato food....takes nearly all day!
24 Jun, 2009
Until I read this blog it hadn,t ever occured to me to count pots and baskets, anyway I went out this morning and had a check,My total is 68 in the gardens, never counted my greenhouses, too scary, lol. Now I undestand why hubby and daughters grumble about the watering when I am away,lol.......
24 Jun, 2009
Well Di, you are definitely the pottiest of the lot with your lots and lots of pots. Makes me feel tired to just think about watering them, better go and have a lie down! Lets hope there's not a hosepipe ban!!
24 Jun, 2009
least they dont have to water them every day Lincslass lol
24 Jun, 2009
wow thats a lot of pots
24 Jun, 2009

24 Jun, 2009
Lol...Eileen...top of the class for maths !
25 Jun, 2009
;-) education wasnt wasted on me lol
25 Jun, 2009
You are not kidding ! Lol
25 Jun, 2009
As I inherited a garden with no soil at all, my gardening is done entirely in pots and home-made boxes/raised beds. Could never, however, imagine having 64 - the time spent watering daily would be a full-time job - almost! :-)
25 Jun, 2009
Ive just ordered some more hehe
but no where near the 400 mark
hehe
26 Jun, 2009
lol David,
you think maybe i could retire and get paid for staying at home to water my planters , nowwwwwww theres an idea lol
26 Jun, 2009
keep ordering Mookins and you will have up to 400 lol
26 Jun, 2009
Well I've counted them at last. lol
On the patio - 66
About the garden 45
In the front - 3
In the poly grower things - Oh dear, so many geraniums cacti and seedlings and polyanthus etc. - I lost count. lol
Plus so many in the shed, and about 100 fuchsias, and Beryl's fuchsias that she hasn't taken back this year; and I don't know how many cacti, I lost count.
Well I did try :o)
Oh yes and a few down the other side of the garage waiting to be put in the ground. I don't know if those count. lol
29 Jun, 2009
lol wow Hywel
29 Jun, 2009
Did you run out of fingers Hywel? :o)
30 Jun, 2009
