Following a short shower, I popped out to take a few snaps.

It had been threatening rain all day..then around early afternoon we had a light shower. Not the best time to take some pics though, the lighting isn’t very good, it’s dull and driech.
I had a little wander round and took a few pics, my little lilac shrub is quite behind – one of my neighbour’s lilac has been in bloom for a couple of weeks. The ferns are all almost open and unfurling nicely.
The solanum/Chilean potato is starting to bloom as is the ceanothus. I avoided taking pics of both as the weather and the dull light doesn’t do them justice sadly.
Hostas are doing ok meantime, a few tiny nibbles here and there..the sedums are starting to really put on some height now. (the taller variety) the rockery is full of colour and lush little green spreaders.
Waiting on lots of other flowers putting on a show, soon I hope! Apparently the bank holiday weekend is to be lovely weather wise! We can hope and pray!!!!

Lovely collection. I have been out in the garden but after 3 showers I did give up! To come back in& take muddy shoes etc..off then get on with some housework whilst watching the weather to then go outside to remember what I was doing outside. And that repeated three times!! 🙄 so I gave up in the end.... too exhausting!

Thank you, kindly!
Jings! You’ve been busy between showers, Amsterdam! I’ve just noticed now it is battering down with hailstones!
I did some shopping this morning and then some ironing etc..then we went to a GC to pick up a couple of things.
Haven’t the notion to plant this weekend. I’m exhausted just thinking about you being exhausted!! 😊

Thank you Eileen, much appreciated. Yes, it did perk everything up. We had blue sky and sunshine for a while later this evening.

I like the way you have set off the Cordyline with the surround of pebbles.

Such excellent photos here Kate. Every pebble shows up so clearly and the ferns look really beautiful. No doubt they have actually enjoyed all the rain!
I do love be the scent of lilac, yours is a pretty colour.

Agree, the lilac is lovely. It looks like a better variety than mine. Everything looks very fresh and enthusiastic!

A nice selection of plants :) I'm glad to see flowers on your lilac shrub, mine has none this year, but I moved it so maybe it's settling in.

Aw thanks kindly, Hywel! Appreciate your comments. Sorry about your lilac, but, as you say, it’s likely just settling itself in to its new position!
