Around the back garden this afternoon…

Popped out for some fresh air and decided to see what was going on. I haven’t really been out in the garden this past week due to work, darkness falling earlier and other activities..
Not much to see, but, I managed to take a few snaps. There’s still a whole abundance of berries in the garden and on the bund hill too.
Thinking about what Ange posted recently, I’m looking at a few changes in the coming year. The long rockery will be altered to cater for more interest and colour..plus the wood wall will be taken down and replaced with brick.
Thankfully the sun shone today, after a light shower this morning…pretty cold though, but fresh.

Those Autumn leaves lying on the wood look SO pretty. Don't make too many changes in your garden as it is truly lovely. Mind you it is always good to have a project on the go!

Thank you, Chris. I was trying to be arty!!! You have made me happy this evening, what a lovely message you have posted, many thanks, I’m well chuffed!
I think our little or big projects keep us going and keeps things evolving in a good way in the garden too, so, I do definitely agree with you there ☺️

lots of lovely colour going on in your garden Kate. Lucky you if you only got one shower, we had lots today and as you said a definite colder feel.
I'll be interested to see your projects as they develop.

Thank you, Eileen, I appreciate your message! Hope you had a nice time in Nottingham!
It definitely is much colder and fresher isn’t it! I’ve just had a look at the outdoor temp at 9.50pm. It’s 3.6 degrees. Going to be a cold night!
I’m looking forward to having a new project or 2…something to get my teeth..or our teeth into 😉

Super photos Kate! Please could you tell me what the purple flowers are in number five? Planning changes is always an absorbing winter activity … 🙂

I enjoy your tiny landscapes, Kate. They remind us to look closer at the smaller pictures around us in Nature. You had a beautiful blue sky. It's a fresh, cold morning here in Wiltshire. I hope it lasts 'cos they're my favourites. Helps to (literally) clear the head!

Love the berries kate, it's all looking good x

Hi Kate lovely pics, I have been meaning to take a few too but only have the odd flower now and some floppy cosmos still going and plenty of leaves lol, I may do the same :-))

You have a lot of colour there Kate! What is the plant below the Asters?
I Like the wood too and agree with Chris. Don't over do the changes!
Mind you, I do love having a new project!
I would like to see the whole garden, maybe from above as you have so many lovely plants.
I am happy what Chris did too even though she was slightly worried what the reaction would be!

I think that’s very true, Julia. Uplifting is a good word to use here. OH will have a plan and design sorted and I’ll sort the planting side of it all! Teamwork!

Hi Sheila, many thanks! Pic 5 has a hebe in the background, blurred unfortunately. It’s the same hebe as in pic 7. It’s difficult to see it as the same plant due to the blurring I think. I bought it a couple of months back and planted it on the rockery..can’t believe how well it’s doing!
You’re right, planning garden projects in winter time is quite absorbing and exciting too!

Thank you, Ange! I pinch your phrase tiny tapestries many times when describing some of the areas on the rockery and in the garden! I love the way you describe it! We did have a lovely fresh day, yesterday. Today was quite similar.
I do like a cold and crisp freshness, it definitely clears the sinuses! 😊

Thank you, Lesley! I’m happy there are still so many berries around! 😊

Thanks Jane! I think you should give it a go! It’s amazing what we can come up with when we have a look around the garden. Hope you mange to make a little montage too ☺️

Hi Rose! Many thanks for your lovely message! The pink flowering plant below the asters is a hebe I bought a couple of months ago. I’m not usually very good at growing hebes.but I thought I’d try again! It’s on the rockery and it’s thriving!!!1 I can’t recall the name, I’ll have to look at the label.
I promise I won’t be making to many changes…I must try to get a pic from above…thanks again for your message! 😊

I had a lovely time with my youngest daughter Victoria, in Notts thank you Kate.
I will be seeing both girls on Thursday as we are going wedding dress shopping for Elizabeth's dress. She gets married October 22 and Victoria in April 23. My wallet is trembling slightly. haha

Thanks Kate for the ID 🙂.

I have never seen a Hebe with such lovely blue flowers as that one!

Agree Rose - its lovely!
Kate if it ain't broke don't fix it. I really like that wooden wall...a lot more character than brick, unless you can get some old mellow bricks from somewhere.

Thanks ladies, I know what you mean…sometimes it’s best to leave things as they are..I’m likely not to make lots of changes..more like tweaks 😉

Good to hear you enjoyed your trip, Eileen. It must be such an exciting time for you and the girls of course! Not sure about your trembling wallet though 😁
