All looking good, Kate. Been to the GC today and all the alpines were in full flow. Sadly, they tend to get lost here - bad husbandry!

Many thanks Julia! Yes, it's quite a difficult area, vertical in some spots.
I've a mix of plants, lavender, hebes, grasses, even a rhododendron and an olive! I'll be trimming back on the 'mile a minute' for obvious reasons! 😁

I am sure the revamp will take your garden on to even better things. It is looking lovely anyway. Is the wood rotting and that is why you are replacing with brick?

The wood has a lifespan and we have seen some white mould and damp. So, hopefully the brick wall will outlast us.

It looks fantastic Kate and so full of wonderful flowers! It's a pity you couldn't take a picture of the whole bund. It will be better with a brick wall too.

It's all coming to life again,Kate,and you have a lovely mix of plants and colours. I'm sure a brick wall will make everything more secure in future years,:o) Is your Muscari coming to an end early than usual,as mine is at it's best just now..in tropical W.Yorkshire !! Lol x

I too would like to see it in its entirety, it looks well established Kate so the roots should help the support the main planting, the thoughts of a mini avalanche did make me smile though, very nice choice of planting, its exciting rebuilding and then replanting, I love alpines, have lots here, was inspecting them longingly last week when at our local nursery, in fact bought a selection for my youngest Juliet, early birthday prezzie.. Fingers xx the weather is good over Easter so hubby can get the main work done...Lovely photo's.....

Thanks Rose, kind of you to say. Yes, I shall attempt to take a pic. Half the bund is our rockery with small fence right across horizontally. The fence is covered in ceanothus, ivy, rose and clematis montana..upper section is planted with junipers,blackthorn, forsythia, hawthorn, sea buckthorn etc..
We're looking forward to switching to brick. Thanks again!

My muscari is still one clump of plant, it is lingering but only just..love the flower colour!!!
I have to agree with you about the brick wall being secure too..we think when we're older, we're hoping it will have lasted and won't need replacing. 🤞

I do hope you're right about the stability. Above the rockery on the upper bund, the large shrubs should be well rooted over the years I guess.
I'm thinking your daughter is an alpine enthusiast like yourself?
They are definitely interesting plants..with some having their teeny tiny flowers on show. Very colourful albeit small. We shall both keep our fingers crossed for good Easter weather! 🤗
