The Rockery in Spring sunshine.

It’s been a very Springlike weekend, warm sunshine and pleasant outdoors.
The first pic is from half way along the rockery.
I took a few pics of the rockery waking up and planted a couple of new little alpines too. It’s never ending the trials of seeing what will survive on this vertically challenged area (which was part of the original bund hill).
It’s been the first weekend, I think, where I’ve found we can sit out and just take in the warmish sunshine and the Spring awakening!
Hope you’re all relishing the better weather and the joys of the garden!

Your garden is looking lovely Kate, and I do love your tree in the first picture, very nice.

Aw thank you, Callie. I'm pleased you liked the pics. Thanks for commenting on the tree too.

Lovely photo’s of your healthy looking plants. Especially like the forth picture, is it some sort of Corydalis?

Thanks Julia, it's definitely trial and error. Hopefully after all these years, I'm finding what works.🤞

Thank you, Amsterdam, that's very kind of you.
The 4th is Oxalis Adenophylla, silver shamrock.
Thanks again.

You have created pretty little worlds, Kate. I'm glad you are experiencing spring. We seem to be under pretty permanent cloud at the moment and raining again this morning. I can't believe how long this has gone on for - months and months of it, it feels like!

My word, it has come a long way since you started on it! Its looking really pretty now. You must be so pleased with it!

That's really kind, Ange. Thank you for your lovely description. It did feel like a warm spring weekend, today too, was lovely.
Have to agree though, the horrid weather feels like it's been hanging around for such a long time. I do hope we're heading into milder, more pleasant weather now. 🤞

Thanks so much, Sue! That's really lovely of you to say. I'm really happy with its progress and finding out what works and survives on the slope, you're spot on there!

A very attractive part of your garden. I like the twisty stems of the plant in your first pic( on the left). I have that Muscari too, do you know it’s name? It has different leaves to the more common one, not long & straggly.

Thank you, Josee. The twisted stems are the base of the Solanum Chilean Potato vine. OH likes it - it has longevity in flowering. Me, I'm not so keen, it's a crazy plant!
The Muscari was tempting as I like the leaf shape better than the usual variety. It's Muscari Latifolium.

That first photo is lovely, you don't often show views of your garden. It looks crammed full of lovely plants and would be interesting to explore.

Thank you so much, Hywel, that’s very kind of you. I’m really pleased you like the garden. 😊

Thank you for the Muscari & Solanum IDs.

Lovely to see it all doing so well Kate, that slope is steeper than I thought so can understand the need for the correct plants, I would think you need deep roots with scrambling habits for the main part, I like a challenge though so would enjoy finding out which ones survive and flourish as I'm sure you do....Weather has turned turtle yet again although the holiday weekend was gorgeous for two of the days, its a case of dropping everything if its nice and catch up indoors when its not......

Thanks Josee, glad to help.

Thank you kindly, Sue! I'm pleased you like the evolving rockery, and, yes, it's definitely a challenge. The amount of plants tried and tested!!! Too many to recall...you're right though, plants with deep roots sounds like a solution.
Yes, weather has been smashing hasn't it! But, the rain appeared here after lunch...cold this evening. Our Friday evening yoga is in the Garden Village, village hall and it was pretty cold earlier. Just when the weather seemed much more pleasant...
