I thought I’d try to take a few pics of my hellebores close up, detailing their centres. Actually, I have a 5th hellebore in bud! Thought I’d only 4. The 5th is another one gifted by BJS, not yet included here.
I’m ready to do some leaf detachment tomorrow!!! As per Ange and Carol Klein!

I'm glad to be put into such elevated company, Kate! Your hellebores are very clean. I have spent some hours today cutting back stems but laying them aside rather than shredding them as they are still be used by the ladybirds etc. I still haven't finished de-leafing the hellebores!

Shirley, I'm so pleased you like the pics!!! Thank you!!!!
I watched one of Carol Klein's programmes recently, it may have been a repeat, she cut all her hellebore leaves off completely when the plant was in bloom.

Ange, you are definitely in Carol's league here! ;-))
Thanks for the tip regarding the healthy leaves. I shall leave them aside once cut, for the insects as you mentioned 👍

Great photo's Kate, lovely and sharp, they are quite interesting looking flowers, just a shame that you must physically turn most of them around to get a good look at them

Thank you, Davey, appreciate your message. Pleased you like my pics, you usually post really artistic captures. You're right about hellebores, they do have a dropping habit.

Thanks for a lovely compliment, Paul!

Thank you, Shirley! I was pleased that she was happy to chop the leaves off, I thought, if Carol thinks it's not a bad thing to do..then I will happily remove mine!

I shall do the same tomorrow ... weather permitting!

Gorgeous aren’t they? So photogenic. I always cut the leaves off m8 e when The buds are ready to open. But I leave any new foliage.

Thank you, Karen. I'm definitely continuing the leaf cutting advice each year.
