Not much going on as yet out in the garden. The front is mainly evergreens apart fron a couple of acers and the edgworthia.
Anyway, thought I’d take a few snaps.
Off now to soak in a hot bath before going to friends for supper.
Skimmia
Some campanula leaves shooting through with cyclamen leaves.
Aquilegia shoots
Another clump of snowdrops in bud
One of Shirley’s tall sedums, new growth noted.

it is lovely seeing the new shoots poking through isn't it?
I am also seeing lots of new growth amongst the wanted plants as well as those I don't :)
Hope you had a lovely soak and enjoy the night with friends.

Hope it was a good evening out. Detailed photos - definitely time to 'stop and stare'.

Isn't it lovely to see buds and shoots appearing! Many of the younger weeds are well enough established too, to pull out without resorting to using tools. Yesterday may have been cloudy but it was mild for the time of the year so pleasant for pottering in the garden.
It will be heartwarming when the weather changes to look out on our gardens and see the difference we have made, Kate, and watch for when those shoots start moving again.

It's so good to see the early growth in our gardens isn't it Kate? Things are moving slowly, but another four weeks and suddenly, there's Spring..:)) Hope you enjoyed your evening.

Thanks Eileen, I imagine you've a whole load of spring shoots pooping through now! It feels like we're headed in the right direction!
We enjoyed a lovely evening with friends in Cottingham, thank you :-)
Good food, good company!

Thanks Ange, it's definitely that time now to stop and catch sight of all the new shoots emerging. Always a cheerful sight.
We did enjoy our evening, lovely homemade fare. My friend Elaine, who hosts most of the time is vegetarian like myself, so, she always makes delicious veggie options ;-D

Aw thanks Xela! Yes, it's definitely a positive feeling this past week, lighter evenings, although only just. Slightly milder temperatures and getting outside even if it is to have a look to see what's popping up at the moment! Yes, the weeds are definitely easier to pull out right now, thankfully.
Thanks again :-)

Thanks Janey, we did have a lovely evening. Late home, but, once a group gets chatting!!! Oh and the wine starts flowing! :-))
I think we're all getting quite cheery now as the season is almost here - it'll be great when the weather is warmer and the evenings are light right through. Clocks forward before we know it.

I imagine it has felt like it's been a long winter for you, Rose. You've had quite a tough time, it's been difficult for you. I just hope the Spring colour will help you feel a little brighter, and you'll be able to get out and enjoy your garden when the weather is a little warmer too x

Spot on, Callie!! It really spurs us on, seeing signs of Spring!!

Thank you, Karen, that's kind. We did have a lovely evening. My friend who loves to host, always seems to make a dinner party/supper seem so easy!
I do hope you're feeling better? Hopefully looking after yourself, or at least being looked after x

Thanks Kate. I am noticeably less dizzy every day thank you x Don’t you go comparing your hosting capabilities with your friend’s. Entertaining is what makes some people come alive. Other people have other gifts! Xx

Loving your photos, Kate, such a lot of new growth and so much to look forward to. I have Crocus showing now, closed up until the sunshine arrives though.

Thanks kindly, Shirley. Definitely feels like we're getting through winter despite some areas having snow and others having floods. Still a way to go, but, yes, it's a positive sign seeing green shoots and flowers. I've some crocus and tulip shoots but I'm way off seeing the blooms as yet.

Wonderful to have Spring foliage popping up. I saw a large shrub today that has small pink 'berries' on it ... on a mission now to find out what it is!
