Scottish Spring.

I’ve just been visiting with my parents and family for several days in Scotland.
The weather was crisp, fresh and sunny.
Long walks in the late February sunshine was very beneficial. I’d been ready to have a break as work was draining me physically and mentally recently.
Unfortunately, spring seems to be a little behind up there. Snowdrops and crocus are in bloom, but daffodils and the like are still in tight colourful bud.
One walk we took around a fairly local country park, has the ruins of a castle. The area is set up now with a lot of nature trails, mainly for youngsters. I recall the dozens and dozens of floriferous rhododendrons and camellia shrubs from childhood, still in bud there at present – unfortunate for me! The tree lined path I posted, will have an abundance of daffodils ar the foot of each tree when they bloom. I was way too early to capture the colour on this particular day/walk..
Other walks were out in the country air.

Thanks so much, Janey!!! Your comments have cheered me up. I really do appreciate your feedback too 😊
The castle has lovely memories for me growing up. Lots of fun, including rolling our freshly painted boiled eggs down the little hill at Easter too!!

Thanks so much, Rose!! So pleased you like the pics! Great to hear you like the carvings! I haven't been here for years, so it's changed a bit. There were some school trips out on the nature trail, looked like a fun learning day out.

Sounds like you had a lovely well deserved break Kate, looks a wonderful place to relax and enjoy from your photos, and imagine as the seasons change that there is quite a bit going on to take in, hopefully one day this rain will stop and give us all a chance to get back to what we enjoy doing in the gardens

Thank you, Davey, you're spot on! It was really beneficial taking the trip up. It was good to have a break from routine.
I think if I'd waited a few weeks to travel up, the colours would have been quite something.
We had a couple of fresh frosty mornings too.
It has been a wet and dreary start to Spring, I'm just hoping March brings us some finer, brighter weather!
Hope you're keeping well, Davey?

Really enjoyed seeing this place even though the Spring flowers are not yet in bloom. There is always something of interest in such a place & as everyone has said ,the carvings are great. I liked the last landscape photo as well I hope you are feeling the benefit of your break.

Thank you, Josee, I am pleased you enjoyed the pics of Scotland. I definitely benefited from several days away.OH was unable to get time off, he’s off with me over Easter, however. Plus, he had to cat sit! ☺️
I enjoyed seeing all the carvings - I didn’t post all of them, but they were new to me.

Aw, many thanks, Sheila! I’m happy the blue skies made you smile! They certainly cheered me up, despite the chill..it was so therapeutic. I enjoyed catching up and the much needed uplifting walks too.
Lovely to hear you really liked the pics, I just hope we start to see more of the blue skies, sunshine and milder weather now we are in to March. 🤞🤗 x

That’s really great to hear, Shirley!!! I’m happy the spring pics up north cheered you up 😊. It’s been quite horrid recently for a lot of us, this dreary wet weather, windy and cold. I’m hoping Spring as we ‘know it’ will start this properly month. We can only hope!!!!
It’s so kind of you, I’m pleased you think the pics are so good! ☺️

Thanks so much, Klahanie. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed and liked the blog and pics. I found this place had changed a bit from when I was young. I just wish I’d seen it in more of its spring colour. I may go back in the summer months to check it out again too.

I love the Sycamore seedling artwork! I suppose it is a bit early for Spring up there yet, but you seem to have benefitted from the rest and the good clean air. Hope you feel refreshed. X

Thanks for liking, Karen! I spotted the sycamore seedling artwork immediately, loved it! Think once all the bulbs bloom around it and the carvings, it’ll look quite striking.
I did enjoy my break away, good fresh air and long walks - very refreshing, thank you 😊
Back to work tomorrow, covering the hospital for our service..off Sunday though, back on Monday. Relaxing this evening. Xx

Thank you, Karen. I had a pretty busy day yesterday..Long day.
Today, I'm catching up and I've popped out to see what's emerging in the little back garden. Feels pleasant today, some sunshine and the wind has ceased.
