Sarah Raven seeds

A garden center in Victoria (BC) had some Sarah Raven seeds. It is very unusual in this Country to get these. My speculation is that they employ someone from England as Victoria is popular destination for British citizens. I hope that they will continue to supply them. I was happy to see them and got just a few for start. Annuals here.
Amaranthus green cascade
Amaranthus cruentus
Occasionally I grow the red bleeding Amaranthus. Never tried the green one.
Penstemon espirit
Looks like a beautiful mixture in shades of pale to dark pink.
Poached egg plant
imnanthes douglasii
We have lots of open spaces I can grow this.
Cerinthe major ‘Purpurascens’
I think this will be a good plant fot hummingbirds.
Stock Excelsior mixed
Fragrant flowers.
Centaurea scabiosa ( knapweed )
Have to watch this as it can be invasive.
Attracts butterflies.
Zinnia sprite
delicate and small flowered zinnia
Echinacea pallida
Good native plant choice for a wildlife garden.
Gaura lindheimeri ’The Bride
Long, graceful thin branching spikes of 1 in. white flowers, tinged pink.
Linaria Northern lights
An annual that has numerous tiny snapdragon-like flowers in shades of pink, yellow, red, purple and violet
None of these plants are probably suitable for formal garden but I am looking forward to get a pollinator patch in our “Sun Valley” this summer.

Thank you SBG. Right now is extremely cold and will be for couple of days but maybe in couple of weeks I can start few seeds inside and put them in the greenhouse at end of March.

Thank you Julia . It is a process isn't it? I am only partially good at it.

Rose, today is just a horrible day here. Snow, windy and freezing (-3deg C) It is a shame because we had a decent winter until now and all vegetation was quite advanced. So....yes, I can hardly wait to get going. Thanks for your comment.

Thank you Ange. Looking out the window makes me shiver.
Very unpleasant day outside today. Seeds will have to wait another couple of months but I am glad I got them.... as I was looking at their selection again today, some got sold out already.

Great choices Klahanie. Do you plan to start them off under cover, or will you try sowing direct when the soil warms up?

Klahanie I'm going to start the Dahlias and Ranunculus inside next week...we are expecting higher temps after tomorrow.

Sheila, thank you. I will start some of them inside but majority will go to the soil, probably in April. The packets are quite generous with seeds. Will also have to observe for deer damage as I do not have enough experience with some of them.

I'd love to start on some of mine Julia, but I am discouraged by our weather forecast. I envy you your higher temperatures. Good luck with your planting.

You’re going to love these Klahanie … the Gaura is a particular favourite - so pretty, and flowers for months!

Smashing selection, Klahanie! Lovely colourful plants to be had! Look forward to seeing them thrive for you and we'll see some pics later on. As Eileen said, you'll be buzzing with even more wildlife!

I also love Gaura Sheila. I grew the pink one in the pot but it probably died from excess of water in winter as I left it in the open. I am looking forward to see this white one.
The origin of its name comes from the Greek word gauros, which means superb.

Kate , I hope to create an area that will attract lots of "buzzing" :-)
