The first rose

I was really pleased this morning to see the very first rose on my Arthur Bell climber that I planted last year. It has the most delicious scent and large yellow flower is gorgeous.
I can`t wait for it to cover the arch along with the honeysuckle.
I planted this container with an Acer `Garnet`, two Geranium `Fireworks Pink`, Centradenia `Cascade, Dianthus `Doris` and `Laced Monarch`, Gysophyllia and finally Geranium `A Happy Thought`. I`ve never done anything like this before so I hope it will look as good as I hope come Summer. The Geranium `Fireworks Pink` is a real stunner with leaves that eventually go a fiery red.
I`ve always been lucky with lupins and this year they look bigger and better than usual. This one, `Gallery Yellow` is my favourite.

My lupins always get eaten by slugs - I give up! Yours look great. Your container already looks great - can't wait to see it in the summer.

Thank you for your kind comments on "my" blog .Your lupins are so beautiful ,they are old fashioned flowers but like you i love them .That yellow one is super .Yesterday we bought some green containers for the tomotoes to grow in and to water them so much easier ,you have I'm sure seen them at the gardening certre you work at .Have a good holiday Monday

You're very lucky to grow Lupins Sandra, I've given up with them as always get covered in a 'grey' aphid and munched to bits ! Beautiful yellow one there.
